Returning: Breaking Bad

Bryan Cranston directs and stars in the first episode of this acclaimed second series, airing in July on Showcase.

brkbd_2_img_77_hThe second season of the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad will premiere Thursday July 2nd at 8.30pm on Showcase.

This series screened in the US in March.

In the first episode, having completed their deal with Tuco in the junkyard, Walt and Jesse realize just how crazy and violent he can be. Jesse is convinced that he has seen Tuco’s black SUV going up and down his street. Walt puts it down to paranoia – until he sees a black SUV parked just down the block from his house.

The episode is directed by its star Bryan Cranston, while a week later former Hill Street Blues actor Charles Haid takes the director’s chair.

The cable drama has also been renewed for a third season.

  1. Season 2 is absolutely amazing.

    Unfortunately for those who haven’t caught up, the Season 1 DVD won’t be out until after Season 2 starts airing on Showcase — but it is available on iTunes.

  3. Great show and the second season is just as good as the first. Can’t wait for the third season. Along with Dexter this is much watch TV for me.

  4. I was so not going to watch this show because of Bryan Cranston, and I saw the first episode and he was Brilliant. Its bets aspect is its storytelling. It lets us breathe and grow with the characters, and for that, I’ve become a big fan.
