  1. They have to rethink the show being live because the hosts can’t handle it. It just seems amateurish and nobody seems to know what’s going on. It’s all over the shop. Dave Hughes just looks disinterested.

  2. CB.. but what were you expecting them to do? Were you expecting them to read the news naked or something?? i mean, at the end of the day, news can only be read in so many ways.. There aren’t any other casual nightly news chat style shows.. All it was supposed to be, was exactly what it is, a casual chatty format about the news.. Their slogan, news told differently, was to appeal to a younger audience.. i mean, younger people wouldn’t be interested in a nightly news reading, which is why they wanted to try and get the idea of it being different.

I think tonight’s episode worked better than last nights.. It’s still finding it’s feet though.. I’m happy to watch it when it’s on though 🙂 And just to quickly say, as much as i don’t like Dave Hugh’s that much, he’s much easier to watch on this than Rove.. oh god was it painful to watch his segment on rove.. I think people will soon see a different side to him

  3. I thought the 7pm Project was advertised as “news, told differently”? But it appears to be exactly the same news as reported through other TV stations, radio channels, newspapers and websites – which most people get earlier in the day anyway – making the 7pm Project quite boring.

The news is not even re-hashed with a new angle. Instead the common news headlines are read then the hosts give their opinions, and the opinions are just that. Most comments the shows hosts give lack research, depth or backbone. Think US talk show ‘The View’. Yuk.

I was somewhat a fan of tv personalities Carrie, Charlie and Dave but that could change with the 7pm Project. Lose the 7pm Project CH10. The place for rambling and whinging is blog sites and Twitter!

  4. Where is Ruby Rose?? She is so hot and love the tattoo 😉 but she wasn’t on today… was really looking forward to the entertainment news tonight…? Did she leave?

  5. Channel 10 please axe this show! Umm or change the host. Hughes sucks! Ruby rose is kool. I beleive we need more late night talk shows like letterman leno or cohen shows but 7pm project thing is garbage. Hughes thinks his funny but he sucks. Change the host and also try not let them try to hard of been funny all the time. Also more action shows wouldn’t hurt. Rush, sea patrol and city homicide is a small step up. Im a writer myself and im writting a tv show of my own, im new at this its something that i want to do. Im no expert nor a profesonal writer since i got poor grammer howeva what the hell i give it a shot.

  6. I didn’t hate it, but it does need some work, not so much on the format but just with the interaction between the key players some of it feel flat and there was some awkward moments, but there is definite potential, I hope it is a hit for Ten!

  7. This show was decent enough, its no Daily Show but Hughsey and Bickmore did a good job with the roles they had, that Charlie Pickering guy was akward though. Why’d they give him the job? All up not something I’d tune into everyday, certainly better than H&A and 2.5 men though

  8. Message To Roving Enterprises …… Dump James Matheson, his attitude with Masterchef Julie’s cooking family tonight was appalling and arrogant and I suspect he was the only person in the room finding it funny, Was wondering if he’d tasted illegal substances before the gig.

Actually the whole show was a joke of missed cue’s tonight.

  9. I watched it tonight. It really wasn’t that bad. There was a moment of complete silence but that made me laugh even more. Only 2nd episode so i guess they’re still getting the hang of it. I really didn’t think it was that bad though. Beats H&A and 2.5 Men so i’ll watch it. No Ruby Rose on tonight though, have they had enough of her already?

  10. Though the show was awful…very boring and totally not funny! Would like channel ten to remove it. what a let down after the success of Masterchef

  11. I watched this tonight (by accident might I say) and I couldn’t but cringe with a little sprinkle of embarassment on behalf of the show. Not particularly funny, I get the sense everybody is trying too hard and the show is definitely lacking in some kind of on-screen honesty and/or chemistry. My guess is Channel 10 might put a big fat cross through it soon?! Maybe.

  12. I agree the first episode there were some teething problems and yeah the Ruby Rose interview sucked but by the second episode they have definitely come into their own. Dave Hughes’ humor is definitely an acquired taste and im not sure why they have to reference twitter every five seconds – actually going off in a wild tangent Talkin bout your generation and Rove reference twitter every 5 seconds as well. WTF are they paying them off or something is anyone else noticing this???? But back to 7PMP i think its really funny Carrie Bickmore i like her light spin on the news. I like it!

  13. interesting about channel seven’s false report about another bombing in Jakarta, yes many news organisation search through twitter to find news, but then cheek it against other sources, not use twitter as there sole source, at least you could say the today’s jeff goldlum mistake occurred during the chaos of mj’s death, but today is just a regular news day.

  14. Yep, much better tonight. Good on them. A few hiccups with the live cross but who cares, jokes were funny – well done. I’ll definitely keep on watching.

  15. i’m sure we will be hearing more about james mathisons knife incident, and rightfully so, does he really need to be told to not threaten children with knives, even as a joke.

  16. *Much* better start to the show tonight… carrie has been great, charlie is happy, conversation is flowing – hope the rest of the show is as good! 🙂

  17. The Ruby Rose interview with the shaky camera (they must have hired the cameraman from Wildside) wasn’t really that informative nor that entertaining.

The show was okay – but was The Panel Lite. Hopefully the quality improves as the hosts build rapport.
