Airdate: The Jesters
Controversial stunts, public pranks, the risk of jail time. This "comedy within a comedy" already sounds very familiar.

And just as The Chaser takes its leave from our screens Movie Extra plots to unstick the whole genre with a comedy about a TV comedy team, The Jesters.
Mick Molloy plays an “old showbiz” comedy legend who takes a bunch of young satirical comics from their university newspaper and gives them their own TV show.
And with their controversial stunts and public pranks they become an overnight sensation, even to the point of risking jail time.
With its “show within a show” approach, this could be a timely deconstruction of satirical comedy. Playing the four Jesters are Ben Geurens, Christian Barratt-Hill, Andrew Ryan and Travis Cotton.
Also appearing in the cast are Susie Porter and Deborah Kennedy.
It also boasts a number of guests stars appearing as themselves including: Steve Vizard, Mark Mitchell, Barry Otto, Kate Ceberano, Phillip Adams and Barry Jones.
The show premieres 9:30pm Tuesday September 8th on Movie Extra.
It has also set up an extensive website where you can check out the four Jesters in question at www.thejesters.tv

yeah, nah
This plot sounds alot like how the Chasers started off.
Are you sure this isn’t a Chaser biopic series in disguise 😉
