Dance keeps Fiona going

Newspaper reports suggest Fiona O'Loughlin has entered a rehab program while continuing with Seven's Dancing show.

folDancing with the Stars loves to have ‘firsts.’ On Sunday it unveiled the first ever blind contestant with a terrific performance by Gerrard Gosens.

Now, according to one report, it could effectively have its first ever ‘rehab’ contestant.

According to the Herald Sun, Fiona O’Loughlin has started attending a rehab program in Melbourne, where she is living during the recording of the Seven show.

It follows her statements on the weekend that she was battling alcoholism after a derailed performance in Brisbane last week.

A network spokeswoman would not comment on the rehab rumours yesterday, but said the 45-year-old was doing remarkably well.

“The discipline of dancing is going to keep her going,” she said.

“Her story is one of inspiration. The viewer reaction in support of her has been superb.”

On Sunday, O’Loughlin told viewers, “I’ve been dancing a merry dance for over a decade now, juggling kids and a career in stand-up comedy, but nothing has kept me on my toes more than Dancing with the Stars.”
