‘Skippy’s park’ could be neglecting roos
T-t-t-t. A property developer which leases the land once home to Skippy is not making the RSPCA or locals very happy.

That Skippy just can’t keep himself out of the headlines.
First there was the courtcase involving former actor Tony Bonner taking producers to court over residual payments.
Now the park where the series was filmed is said to be not caring properly for its native animals.
Waratah Park Earth Sanctuary has been closed for nearly two years, apparently for renovation.
Last week the RSPCA put down two kangaroos and says it has concerns over the welfare of its animals.
Property developer Prudentia Investments leases the site but has not had a licence for the animals since it took over three years ago.
Loal residents believe it has run down because Prudentia intends to build houses there.
This sounds like a plot ripped right from the ’60s show. Big old nasty corporate man wants to knock down some trees and shaft wallabies and koalas from their homes. Sonny and Clancy would be mortified to hear of such disaster.
That Skip will sort him right out!

Waratah Park Earth Sanctuary, Home of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, is currently leased by Prudentia Investments and it’s future is uncertain. We, the community, do not want this land to become just another housing estate. We cannot allow this to happen, this is a beautiful piece of land and an iconic part of Australian History. This is a matter of urgency!
NSW Lands needs to take responsibility & claim back this land and return it to the community.
Save Waratah petition.
Were on the case people, it will be saved.

i cant believe this…we all grew up (well ppl around my age) watching skip and seeing this iconic building and now only to be maybe pulled down due to big business!!! Its c**p i tell ya. 🙁
Looking at the picture brings back so many memories! I remember going there when I was a kid but I was too young to appreciate it. It would be a shame to see it knocked down and houses put up.
This isn’t the first time Waratah Park has had neglect concerns raised, such as when it was running as a wildlife park in the late 90’s.
