Daniel Amalm’s star is certainly on the rise. Not only does he have a key role in Nine’s Rescue: Special Ops, now he has been announced as a co-host of The Contender Australia.
The local version of the boxing reality series will air on FOX8 later this year.
Amalm has a keen interest in the sport and sounds like a logical choice.
At 20, he entered his first amateur boxing fight.
“One fight was enough for me! While I still dream of getting in the ring and having a go, the opportunity to be involved in a series like this is a dream come true for me,” he said.
“These guys are on a whole other level, as the commitment and sacrifice it takes to be a professional boxer is extraordinary. I am really looking forward to getting to know the contenders and giving an insight to the incredible world of boxing, both inside and outside of the ring.”
Amalm will co-host the series with Australia’s Next Top Model judge Charlotte Dawson.
The local version, to be produced by Granada, will feature 14 professional super middle weight boxers who will live, train and compete together over a six week period.

Funnily enough he was also in Two Fists One Heart in which he played a boxer. Surprise choice but a good one. Can’t wait for this series.
