steve&corgisNever work with kids and animals they say. This week on Gardening Australia, host Stephen Ryan is about to be upstaged by his two pet corgis, James and Emma, as he films an episode from his sprawling Mt Macedon property.

Ryan, who took over from Peter Cundall seven months ago, runs a menagerie of corgis, two Burmese cats, ducks, chooks, and a rehabilitating parrot and a galah.

Also on this week’s show Sophie Thomson explains the importance of understanding different microclimates in the garden, and shows some simple ways to change one.

Jane Edmanson visits a community nursery which is propagating local plants including some that were thought to be extinct, to re-establish them in the local landscape.

Jerry Coleby-Williams visits the Brisbane landmark Ormiston House to explore a garden rich in history and horticulture.

And Josh Byrne looks at biggest selling item at nurseries -potting mix.

Gardening Australia screens Saturdays at 6.30pm on ABC1 and 4.30pm Mondays on ABC2.

  1. If I can catch it, I’ll watch GA on first or second run via ABC 1 or 2… Lovely, wholesome show, but seriously David, why the episode recap now? This is hardly a ‘special’ week…

Perhaps this is a boring week and you’ve had time to taste some more regular promo discs, I dunno… 😉

Great series as always, the new host fits in well with the GA team… 🙂
