  1. Ten may be doing 12 hour coverage of the finals, yet on saturday night Carlton is playing Brisbane in the finals, and its delayed til 9.30 even in Qld and Brisbanes playing, pathetic just because the rugby union is on.

  2. It’s kind of insulting having Liz Ellis on an AFL show. More than once, I have heard her deride the game. Why not have Samantha Lane and/or Emma Quayle? – they are both excellent analysts of the game.

  3. Great work Ten! That’s the way to leverage the value in your product. Seven take notice. Hopefully ads will be shown wisely. ….and for goodness sake footballers, in the after match presentation, shake the hands of the little kids and place a cap on their heads before you become yobbos once more.

  4. Great news. If only TEN could have the Grand Final every year.

Last years coverage on Seven was a disgrace, cutting to the news before they showed the team song is unforgivable.

Why Seven pay so much money for rights to games they don’t want to broadcast properly, is beyond me.

Looking forward to some great TEN coverage. Seven, watch and learn.

  5. Absolutely ridiculous having it delayed on ONE, what about the post match stuff we’ll have to wait an hour for that, stupid money hungry southern cross!

  6. What, you mean they wont be cutting to a wildlife documentary at 4pm in Perth this year? Outrageous.
Oh right, Ten have the rights to this years Grand Final. A network that actually treats its viewers with respect.
I expect the wildlife documentary to return in 2010.

  7. Daylight saving does not start in Tasmania until Sunday October 4.
To clarify the AFL coverage in Tasmania on Saturdays, it is shown first on Southern Cross before it is shown on delay on TDT. For example, on this Saturday, the Hawthorn-Essendon game is shown live at 2pm on Southern Cross and 3pm on TDT and ONE; the Port Adelaide-North Melbourne is shown live at 7.30pm on SC and 9.30pm on TDT and ONE. Therefore on September 26, GF will be shown live on SC and on delay on TDT.

  8. @ mac: do you mean post-match press conferences? Yes it will be great if ONE shows the post-match press conference with captain and coach from the winning team.
@ DansDans: the coverage on TDT is delayed by one hour is because Southern Cross Tasmania (an affiliate of Seven, but also owns the rights to show Saturday AFL matches live) will show it live across the Apple Isle.

  9. Awesome…I love savouring the moment after Grand Final and this will do well given people won’t just tune into the News which will be led by the event you’ve just been watching!

  10. One hour delay in Tassie? Thats a bit dumb isnt it?

Also where is Quarters for the day? Is he doing the radio coverage on MMM instead of TV for TEN?

Good commitment by ONE – looking forward to GF day!

  11. I am not a football fan, but what a great use of the oneHD channel. Well done Ten. this is what it is all about. One HD does a great job of the pre race shows for Moto GP and F1 so this should work well.
