With the cheeky working title, Not The 7pm Project, it included Peter Berner and several others who, according to one source “actually have opinions.” Ouch.

McGuire and Nine have long eyed a show that returns him to a format that allows him to speak his mind.

Last year he hosted a week of A Current Affair (pictured).

    What are you suggesting? That people have to like Eddie? I don’t like or dislike Eddie because I’ve never actually watched a program he’s been involved with as I dislike AFL & quiz shows. But surely people are entitled to dislike Eddie?

  2. Please, for all that is holy, do not let Eddie McGuire have another show. I can think of millions of things I would rather do, painful degrading things, than see Eddie on a panel show.

  3. if it’s an intelligent and engaging show with real important topics of the day – then sure – but if it’s going to a panel version of the today show / aca or simply a vehicle for pushing C9 shows – then forget about it. Though maybe on the other hand – in these ‘dark economic times’ we need more of a light hearted panel show than a harder hitting panel show. Who am i kidding? C9 with a hard hitting panel show? Yeah right.

  4. now David…when i made my post this morning there were no other posts…so could i have a hoorrrraaaaahhh for how accurate i have been in predicting the posts…ok i know what you will say but will didnt have to be a brain surgeon, to predict it…but a Leighton C’mon!!!!!!!

    I could have doubley predicted that good old Neon kitten would have been the first as well….now if only i had the power to predict the lotto numbers…LOL

    However, the show itself won’t work on Nine as the will have usual suspects Eddie, Jules, Rich WIlkins, Bert etc…
    Plus it will be on Nine – the ever moving programming channel

  9. Why the hell is 9 being so reactive these days???

    Remember the good old days where 9 was the innovater? (long time ago it seems)

    I personally have nothing against E Mc G, he is a fantastic guy and very misunderstood by some who are probably jealous at his success, but this just has failure written all over it, if 10 can’t get the 7pm Project to fly (with a huge machine like Roving behind it solidly and a network with huge patience in 10), then I don’t see this working given 9’s propensity to want instant ratings satisfaction.

  15. Meow! I think Eddie and Nine just wanted to do the pilot to try and put down the 7PM project get in the paper.
    The only problem with the show is who really gives a flying f**k what Eddie thinks.

  19. People who actually have opinions? Will those be the same people and opinions that litter every episode of 20 to 1….

    Good of Channel 9 to make fun of a poor rating show on another network. Maybe they should run some test pilots for Not Australia’s Perfect Couple and Dance Your Ass Back On.

  20. Standby and que the Eddie bashers…. iam sure when i check back tonight the long list of people saying “oh no not Eddie everywhere” and” i won’t be watching”, plus a mix of non Ch 9 comments will be long…LOL

  22. Not sure if too many people outside of a fe win Melbourne would really want to hear Eddie’s opinion? Other than that, a panel show with more substance or serious issues might work.
