Seinfeld reunion on Curb in September

The cast will appear in five episodes that track the process of restarting the classic sitcom, picking up the characters' lives 11 years later.

large_curb-seinfeldThat Seinfeld reunion we heard about back in March will be happening in the seventh season of Curb Your Enthusiasm on Sept. 20 in the US.

The story line features the NBC sitcom’s cast members Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia-Louis Dreyfus and Michael Richards appearing as themselves as they agree to a series revival. They will appear in five episodes that track the process of restarting the classic sitcom, picking up the characters’ lives 11 years later.

It will be the first time that all four actors have appeared together in a scripted TV show since Seinfeld went off the air nearly 11 years ago.

“For years, I’ve been asked about a ‘Seinfeld’ reunion,” said David, co-creator of the hit NBC comedy. “We’ll see the read-through, parts of rehearsals, the show being filmed.”

The Seinfeld reunion idea will be introduced a couple episodes in and will be the main arc this season, which might wrap with an hourlong finale.

  1. Looking forward to this. I’ve really been getting into seinfeld lately, particularly with it being on 9hd (although 9hd breakaways stop this week… sadly).

  2. Larry David was correct to take his Curb show to HBO, as it’d have never taken off on a standard broadcast US network. It’s dry humour wouldn’t appeal to many viewers and it’s cheap to make (as probably the only comedy show filmed on videotape now). By and large, Aus viewers (other than more discerning ones who read this site), wouldn’t care less about this.

  3. Yey! Does this mean that GO! will get the rights to this when it airs in the U.S.? Seeing as they already have Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld.
