Trailer: Survivor

Updated: This time, Jeff Probst, size matters....

CBS has released the trailer for its 19th season of Survivor filmed in Samoa.

This season is beefed up to 20 contestants, including a promise of the “biggest villain ever.”

The “Size matters” line is almost an ironic reference to that parody that Drawn Together did on Jeff Probst!

It airs in the US on September 17th. Given we are only seeing Gabon on GO! with Toncantins yet to air, it could be some time before this season airs on GO!

Producers are believed to have filmed two seasons back to back in Samoa.

  1. @JM : Yeah, I know. But wouldn’t it be awesome if, say Jeff simply wasn’t able to finish wrapping a season and Rupert got brought in to hold the fort?

    Gawd I’m addicted…

  2. Now I know why they wanted 1 contestant from this season to go on to All Stars 2 (Season 20: Heroes vs Villains)

If this guy really is the biggest villain in survivor history…then he’ll be perfect for season 20 which needs 10 villains from seasons past.

  3. We’ve watched the last 3 seasons ‘by other means’ and I’m guessing we will do for this one too!

Then Channel 9 wonder why the ratings are down – People get sick of waiting especially when you find out the winner on the net – without even looking for it!

  4. How could anyone suggest that Channel 9 should show more than one season of Survivor at a time.
That would be such a waste, and (from experience) I know it is almost impossible to keep the different season seperate in your head.

Channel 9 have buried Survivor over the years becauce it does not score the ratings anymore, at least on GO! it has a chance to find a home and they could even re-visit old seasons once they catch-up to the US timeline.

Survivor is one of the best reality shows out there and deserves respect

  5. @ Craig for airing all the seasons at the same time back2back, Bad Idea in my opinion, I already take a few episdoes to recognise the more “minor” characters of each season of Survivor. If I was watching multiple seasons at once, it’d be 2 or maybe 3 times the amount of contestants to learn/remember at once….

I’d much prefer it if they skipped Tocantins, fasttrack the new seasons and then come back to the skipped seasons Tocantins afterwards. They could even go back to Survivor Marques (Season 4) that was never showed here because of Nine’s attempt at “Australian Survivor”.

Talking about old school Survivor, I’d probably also watch alot of the older seasons of Survivor if they re-aired them, possibly even on like a Saturday night.. maybe they could do an “old school Reality” night on Saturday’s with episodes of Survivor, old seasons of The Amazing Race if they could get them from Seven, maybe even old episodes of game shows like The Price is Right, Sale of the Century & Original Who Wants to be a Millionare.

  6. why doesn’t Nine/GO! just air Toncantins one night and new Samoa one another night or the two different series back to back aka the CSI nights?

So they could have Gabon at 7:30, Toncantins at 8:30 and Samoa at 9:30?

  7. So damn excited. To think I was totally anti-Survivor when it first came out, but Pearl Islands had be absolutely hooked and I’ve been a junkie for it ever since.

And if ever Jeff leaves, wouldn’t Rupert be a brilliant replacement host?

  8. Nine will of course just treat this as more filler product to be used sometime down the track.

Survivor fans already know there is only one option. And Nine’s not it.

  9. Channel 9 should show survivor:Samoa on it’s main channel and show gabon and tocantins on GO!

Right now the ratings on Tuesday for Nine are bad……..
