AFL Game Day: Season’s Best

Seven's look back on the AFL season features Hamish McLachlan, Leigh Matthews, Nathan Buckley, Tim Watson, Dave Lawson, Stephen Curry, Fifi Box & Jo Stanley.

HamishmclachlanFor this year’s special AFL Game Day Season’s Best on Channel Seven, host Hamish McLachlan is joined by commentators Leigh Matthews, Nathan Buckley, Tim Watson, comedians Dave Lawson and Stephen Curry. Fifi Box and Jo Stanley are also set to join the sometimes-irreverent look at AFL season 2009.

The 90 minute special on the 2009 AFL season will air in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth as Grand Final week builds towards the big game.

Season’s Best will highlight the biggest hits, best marks and goals, hottest players and clangers, along with a look at the lighter side of the game.

Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin, Gary Ablett and Barry Hall will all star as we remember the moments that have made season 2009 so memorable. Franklin will also count down the top seven players he’s seen in his lifetime.

AFL Legend Leigh Matthews will give fans his final verdict on the two competing Grand Final teams.

And for another take on football, Fifi Box and Jo Stanley illustrate the more glamorous side of the game with Fifi looking at the best gowns from Brownlow night, and Jo will try and finalise once and for all, which player is the hottest in the AFL.

Dave Lawson and Stephen Curry also have some fun as they delve into the funny clangers throughout the season.

It airs Wednesday 23 September, 9.30pm on Seven.

  1. Sounds interesting, kind of like Before The Bounce only longer. Any news on whether this will air in Qld or NSW? Even after midnight? which is what happens with shows like Footy Show, Before the Game and Footy Classified.
