It may not be breaking the rules of The Apprentice Australia, but it’s certainly surprising.
Two contestants on the new Nine reality show know each other before the show.
According to business magazine Anthill, Carmen Parnos (pictured seating), Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Super Leaders Australia, mentored Amy Cato prior to the series in corporate development.
“My first impressions of Amy Cato (pictured standing) were, ‘What a knockout,” she wrote last December. “She looked great. She was in a neat and dry cleaned business suit. She was well groomed, her shoes were polished and she wasn’t wearing too much jewellery. She shook my hand and apologised for keeping me waiting – only for a few minutes – but I thought that was professional.”
In a show where forging teams and alliances is part of the show’s game-play, what kind of advantage does this give either contestant?
According to Parnos she also spent a slice of her busy schedule coaching some of Australia’s high profile corporate and business professionals and celebrities. In her biog for the show, she adds that: “I’ve lost everything. Even my house is gone. This is my chance to get it all back — and more.”
Parnos was one of the contestants about to be fired by this week local boss man, Mark Bouris.

Hi what did you think about working at the marriott Hotel. bloody hard and i see that it took some time to get the room cleaned.just think how much a hospitaly staff gets hr,$14.00 per hr what do you think about that
What mottley bunch of so called business people. One who tells everyone she was Miss Australia 2006. And Carmen who know stuff all about anything..Maybe Mr. ( no personality) Bouris should have sacked Carmen, that women seems as sharp as bowling ball.
Morello rules!
I loved Carmen, sure she was loud an tough, but at least she stepped up and put herself out there. Overall I thought the aussie apprentice was bloody good!
Carmen has so many faults it was laughable that she survived the first episode, and that poor ladylike Jane, was fired for being unlucky enough to have Carmen as a boss. Jane was not given a chance. What did she do wrong? Take orders from an idiot wearing a stupid necklace, who talked herself up to be something she clearly is nowhere near.
I was so disappointed with Mark Bouris. I thought he would have come across much better than that.
Carmen, coaching in corporate development? She seems like the worst behaved and presented out of all the candidates. Her grooming is lousy, cant control her emotions, she doesnt listen to clients. What a joke. She should have been the first one to get kicked off.
Am pleasantly surprised it’s as good as it was. And they’ve taken more cues from the UK version than the US.
I hate Carmen, but it makes fantastic tv watching all the bitchiness.
Carmen is a shocker. The C definitely doesn’t tand for Carmen.
I wondered why Carmen has to wear a necklace with a big ‘C’ on it. For some reason this annoyed me almost as much as her abrasive manner did. I certainly would not have enjoyed working for her. Too much ‘me, me, me’!
What a nightmare this woman is. Good tv though.
How long before we get the headline “Apprenctice Australia – you’re fired!”
