Bisley: Charges reduced, pleads not guilty.

Actor Steve Bisley has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his ex-wife, while police reduce the original charges.

sb3Actor Steve Bisley (Sea Patrol, East of Everything) has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his ex-wife in a brief appearance at Balmain Local Court this morning.

The actor had been charged with three counts of common assault and two of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on publicist Sarah Ann Burleigh on the evening of September 6th.

The Daily Telegraph notes the court heard today police were dropping all but one charge of common assault and one of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Bisley’s lawyers have previously told media, “On behalf of our client we wish to note that he is deeply distressed by the events of the last few days and considers it regrettable that what is clearly a highly personal and private matter has been deliberately made public.

“Mr Bisley strongly denies the allegations and disagrees with the description of last weekend’s events.”

Bisley was originally set to participate in TEN’s Celebrity MasterChef but was replaced.

The conditions of an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order remain in place while the matter will now go to trial at Downing Centre Local Court on December 21st.
