Bumped: Nurse Jackie, Little Britain. Gone: Supernatural

TEN clarifies it's plans for two US cable shows, after the Idol changes confused us all.

njSeems in the flurry to shift Australian Idol to 7:30pm from this week there was an error in TEN’s Press Release regarding Little Britain and Nurse Jackie.

Both shows will be held this week and will not air following Rove.

Instead they will return on Monday Sept 28 for their second episodes following Good News Week.

Sun Sept 20
5:30pm Sports Tonight
6:00pm The Simpsons
6:30pm Talkin’ ’bout Your Generation
7:30pm Australian Idol
9:30pm Rove Turns Ten
11:00pm Sunday Late Night Movie – The Shape Of Things

Mon Sept 28
8:30pm Good News Week
10:00pm Little Britain ep 2
10:35pm Nurse Jackie ep 2
11:10pm TEN’s Late News With Sports Tonight
11:55pm Medium rpt

  1. Hey, isn’t the Channel 10 slogan, “Seriously, Ten”? So my question to Channel 10 is, “Seriously Ten????” Come on, fair crack of the whip, what is going on over there with regards to Supernatural? First it was initially after Big Brother which always ran late, then they put it on after GNW which always runs late and now they have announced a return date and then pulled the rug out from under us. In the immortal words of Rove “What the….?”

I have to wonder if you even care about your viewers Channel 10, ’cause from where I sit, it sure doesn’t look or feel that way!

  2. Is channel TEN joking!!!!!
I was so looking forward to see Supernatural S5 on oz TV screens soon after it airs in the US….
As usual we aussies will be left behind.

  3. This sucks. I’m a huge fan of Dexter and Supernatural and Very Bitterly Disappointed with Ten!!!!!

They stuffed Supernatural around with GNW always running late and now this. 🙁

  4. “Both shows will be held this week” – I would rather eps of Jackie be held for a week than have them are at close to midnight. Although for the vast majority of viewers who don’t scan TV Tonight every few hours how are they to know? They’ll probably think TEN axed the show. Don’t care about Supernatural but if I were a fan I’d be rather angry.

  5. The problem with Dexter and Nurse Jackie (apart from the fact that they really are briliant) is that they are niche shows. Cable programs don’t tend to rate well in Australia (Sopranos anyone??). We have other means to watch the shows we want (both legal and otherwise…), and we can always get our friends/families/co-workers onto these shows. The fact that TEN trys to show them is admirable, but they exist to make money, if they can get more ratings from something less brilliant, they’ll do it. Fans of this blog are pretty well knowledged when it comes to procuring these shows, so if need be they can record Dexter on Saturdays, buy the DVD, or ‘borrow’ Supernatural from elsewhere.

  6. far out im soo madd!!! i hate channel 10 y are they doing switcharoos and change arounds all the time, SN would have been great to be on sept 28
not fairr and not happpy TEN!

  7. Stupid move. Nurse Jackie should be on after Rove – thats how TEN should have done it from the start. Little Britain is funny, but some scenes are taking it too far.

  8. You’ve gotta be kidding me. They’re going to replace Supernatural with Nurse Jackie which got less than 400,000 whereas Supernatural got 600,000+ throughout Season 4. Fair enough Little Britain US did fairly well but honestly, why not have Supernatural start at 10 on Mondays, or better yet see how it does in another timeslot.

  9. this is very channel nine of ten, hopefully this is the beginning of a trend for ten, i don’t watch supernatural but i can image how annoyed i would be if i did, especially considering it’s just returned after all this time, how can they judge its rating after just one ep also good to see rove being a clear 90 minutes though insteed of the usual 74 min one week, then 82, 74, 86 etc.

  10. folks, I hardly call the dismal ratings for Nurse Jackie a ‘ratings base’. Just goes to show that no network is beyond shafting a programme for a bigger piece of the rating’s pie. I love Nurse Jackie but if people don’t watch it, they wont show it. They are not going to miss out on advertising dollars because a small handfull are annoyed. Even if they did stick with NJ, it is doubtful they could increase the audience to over a million during a 12 ep season.
Ten never should have taken on this programme anyway, they probably know that.

  11. I am not a fan of Supernatural, but man I would be pi**ed if I was. However I am pi**ed about Jackie being booted out for a week. I could see every episode elsewhere and watch the full season by the time TEN brings it back the following week.
    Hey, there’s an idea.

  12. Ten treats some of these amazing shows they have like

    Nurse Jackie
    The Office

    etc

like s**t. they are so lucky to have such amazing shows – and they just blow them.

  13. Dexter has also been dumped to 11.30 pm Saturdays I believe. This is a more suitable timeslot for a fairly dark show, that was never going to be a big rater. The majority of Aus fans of the show have already seen season 3 anyway, without seeing it on Foxtel.

  14. Grrrrrr! Channel 10 is such a c*ck tease.

Offering us new episodes of Supernatural and then taking them away.

And great way to build an audience base for Nurse Jackie. Show one episode and then “rest” if for a week leaving viewers who aren’t aware of the wonders of tvtonight.com.au to assume the show has been canned.

  15. What a bunch of a-holes! Build a program up and then dump it out of scheduel after 1 episode. I havent even managed to see the first ep yet – not sure if I will bother as IQ10 are liable to drag it off altogether.

  16. Oh no !
Looks like Ten is doing a Nine programming “chop and change routine”
Sunday night for Ten is a dogsbody.
Who knows what time shows start, who knows what is on after 6 PM
Ten had my attention when Mastechef was on, now it is case of “do they have any decent shows bar NCIS,Rush
