Call for Entries: Cheap Thrills

Community television is asking for indie films to be submitted with a view to public screenings under its Cheap Thrills banner.

movieCommunity Television has opened the call for emerging film makers to have their works screened.

TVS, along with interstate stations, is developing a new series called Cheap Thrills; bringing together a unique collection of films from around Australia.

Films up to 70 minutes in duration, independently funded and completed in the last ten years, are eligible.

In what sounds like a win-win for content, the series will screen in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

TVS Chief Executive, Laurie Patton, said the channel was keen to support the development of the Australian film industry. “If we can interest people in watching our films on television then, in time, we will hopefully see an increase in box office returns for local films,” Mr Patton said.
