Change of command as Bisley exits Sea Patrol

Updated: Actor Steve Bisley is not returning to the fourth series of Sea Patrol, to be replaced by Tammy McIntosh.

marshallActor Steve Bisley is not returning to the fourth series of Sea Patrol as Cmdr. Steve Marshall, with his role to be replaced by former All Saints star Tammy McIntosh.

Producers McElroy All Media told Sea-Patrol.com Bisley had moved on.

Updated: “Steve is a very talented actor who has lots of offers, so several months ago we agreed to release him so he could move on and make the three movies he desperately wanted to do,” producers have added.

The exit follows a difficult year for the actor, who also vanished from the roll call for Celebrity MasterChef facing one charge of common assault and one of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, allegations he strongly denies.

For the Nine drama, the change in command will be no issue for the storyline.

“Navy rotates senior ranks regularly to keep everyone on their toes. So Commander Maxine White (Tammy McIntosh) is the new boss of Navcom – and she’s no pushover. But she and Mike were class mates at ADFA (Australian Defence Force Academy) so they have a shared history,” producers said.

Sea Patrol‘s fourth series, which also introduces Conrad Coleby and Danielle Horvat, will have 16 eps -an increase from its previous seasons of 13.

“Some of the audience want action, action, action. Some want character, character, character. So every episode is a balancing act trying to keep all the audience happy.”
