Double Homicide

Seven has so many eps of City Homicide up its sleeve it can afford to play it twice a week.

ci3City Homicide is about to up the ante with two episodes a week.

A second ep will play at 8:30pm Wednesday in place of Criminal Minds, on September 16th and 23rd.

This is due to Seven having extra episodes up its sleeve which would not have played out on Mondays by the end of the ratings year.

On September 21st a Monday ep will not air due to the 2009 Brownlow Medal in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Seven is yet to clarify its Sydney / Brisbane plans for 8:30pm Monday 21st.

  1. david will this be going on for more than one week?

@JH, this season is 26 episodes so it will run very far into 2010 even if it runs all the way to the end of ratings.

i’d say 7 are doing this to test it in a wednesday slot. because next year desperate housewives and CH will have to battle it out for the Monday slot and DH will probably win. CH going back to sundays shouldn’t be an option so wednesday is worth a good slot

  2. I must agree with Ducko. I was not impressed with Ch7 last year showing repeats. While I used to enjoy the show, I was offended with Ch7’s treatment of fans, their arrogance because they had already won the ratings year. I know I am not the only one that didn’t return to it because of that. I still watch Ch7 but on my terms not theirs. Still good to see it doing well for the Aussie actors!

  3. Two eps a week? thats a good sign for aussie drama isn’t it. at least this one.

you’d presume this means they won’t tide any eps over for next year, and are expecting another big block of production leading up to next year.

    nice?

  4. Hardly killing it off, I’d say its a smart idea. The show lost momentum when season 2 was cut-off in non ratings and 8 eps were held over to Sunday nights earlier this year. It might be a good thing they’re airing this season, in its entirety, this year, possibly bringing season 4 back for an earlier start time of June 2010.

Not to mention, Nine burned off double Sea Patrol eps and even double Underbelly eps before. Not necessarily the sign of a sinking ship.

  5. Seven has really mucked around with this show. Last year they snuck in repeats, which didn’t go down too well. This year they tried it on Sunday, which didn’t go down too well. Now they’re got too many episodes, so they’re going to run two episodes per week (for a while at least). Are they trying to kill this off?
