Australian Idol‘s Top Ten hit Melbourne’ Federation Square yesterday to sing live to fans of the reality talent quest.
Hosted by Ricki-Lee Coulter, the concert was preceded by a half-hour autograph session.
Watching on in the crowd was a young cousin of singer Stan Walker, who was coaxed into dancing onstage with Scott Newnham, and showing that talent runs in the Walker family. It was certainly a popular move with the frenetic audience, most of whom just spent the time squealing anyway.
If the show is in decline with its audience, it wasn’t evident here.
Staying overnight in Melbourne, the Idols also attended TEN’s lavish annual Seriously AFL party in South Melbourne.
A ‘jungle-themed’ event atop South Melbourne Central was decked out with vines, camouflage, trees, live pythons & frogs, and African musicians. AFL footballers mingled with sales clients, media and TEN personalities including Mal Walden, James Sorensen, Jason Coleman and Scott Major. Even a few Nine personalities were in attendance including Dermott Brereton and Craig Hutchison.
Amongst the AFL stars was the party-shy ‘Buddy’ Franklin. But no sign of Brendan Fevola…

Who are those people on stage and why should we be interested? Hmmm…. I think Ten has a problem here….
