Heads or Tails? UK picks up Eddie pilot.

UK's Channel Five picks up Heads or Tails, a game show piloted by Eddie McGuire, for local presenter Justin Lee Collins.

jlcUK broadcaster Five has picked up the game show pilot Heads Or Tails filmed by Eddie McGuire in May at Channel Nine.

Eyeworks UK will produce a local version of the show to be fronted by TV presenter Justin Lee Collins (The Friday Night Project) who has signed a two-year deal.

In talking to media about the pilot in May, McGuire pragmatically said, “Some things stick and some things don’t. There is no harm in trying and having a show that works and one that doesn’t. They’re not always going to work. The trick is to make them work more often than not.”

So far the show hasn’t seen the light of day in Australia, while Hot Seat picks up pace at 5:30pm.

The 10-part series will see Lee Collins become a key face of the Five channel with more entertainment and factual programmes to come.

Five is struggling in the current economic climate, prompting controller Richard Woolfe to say, “I’m delighted to have secured Justin at such a pivotal point for Five. We have just celebrated 14 weeks of continued growth – the only terrestrial to do so.”
