New boss for FremantleMedia

Ian Hogg from MGM Worldwide Television will be the new CEO of FremantleMedia Australia.

Ian HoggMGM Worldwide Television managing director (Asia-Pacific) Ian Hogg will be the new CEO of FremantleMedia Australia.

Hogg, who has been based in Sydney, replaces Mark & Carl Fennessy who are heading up Shine Australia for Elisabeth Murdoch.

He previously spent seven years in Singapore as founder and chief executive of Theatre Red and has consulted with Prime Media.

Hogg began his career in broadcasting at Brisbane, Australia-based Channel TEN and joined TEN’s Sydney operations in 1988 as Assistant Program Manager. In 1990 he relocated to New Zealand where he was appointed Director of Programming at TV3. In 1993, Hogg was appointed Head of Television at Becker.

FMA, which produces some of Australia’s biggest TV titles, is owned by owned by RTL,a subsidiary of German colussus, Bertelsmann.

Hogg was unavailable for comment today due to personal reasons.
