Vampire Diaries, Apprentice repeats on Nine

If you missed The Vampire Diaries on GO! Nine will air it again and The Apprentice on Wednesday.

vdIf you missed The Vampire Diaries yesterday on GO! (and with all the content on offer most people did) Nine has suddenly announced it will air tonight on Nine.

It’s slated for 10:30pm in place of Little Britain.

Just 147,000 saw the premiere on its two screenings on GO!

Nine has also added a repeat of The Apprentice Australia on Wednesday night at 10pm, on top of repeats already planned this coming weekend.

The Vampire Diaries will also have a replay on GO! Thursday night at 10:30pm in place of Side Order of Life.

  1. I guess this proves that no matter how much you advertise a show (with annoying and obtrusive water marks that say “Vampire Diaries: Monday 830pm”), it’s not going to get more viewers.

  2. Will the pilot airing on nine(9sd and hd) last night @10:30pm, be the only screening, at least for the forseeable future of TVD?, next tuesday night, nine has the FTA network(at least in melbourne) of the Transformers movie @ 8:30,followed by nightline at 11pm.

  3. I have to fess up the reason why I finally got around to getting HD box was to watch Vampire Diaries. They are still advertising VD on GO! saying “exclusive” to GO! … that’s annoying. Anyway the VD pilot was a bit meh for me and I hate Twilight with a passion.

  4. You’re right Jack, you’re sounding like a broken record. Beautiful Life got repeated both on Fridays and Sundays on the CW, yet it still got a paltry 0.5 in the 18-49 demo. Not to mention the show’s been trashed by critics and viewers alike. Why would the CW cancel one of their highest-rating shows in place of a low-rating dud? Let it go.

  5. Good work Nine, this is called respecting your audience. Little Britain doesn’t need to be airing on three networks at once anyway. I tried to record the midnight encore but they made it start early for no reason and I missed the start.

  6. glad they are repeating VD too, not because i didn’t watch it, but because i missed the start when i tried to record it because it started so damn early.
but i don’t know if the airing on 9 will do much to gain an audience, any potential viewers will have to be watching 9 tonight to see an ad, with packed to the rafters and new ncis that is highly unlikely. also add in the fact that the VD audience doesn’t watch 9 at the best of times. the airing after moonlight should do well though, putting 2 vampire shows together.

  7. The Vampire Diaries is a fantastic show. It isn’t the books, that I have loved since they first published in 1991, however it is similar and exciting to see on screen. Damon’s character is the closest to the books, which makes the sibling rivalry all the more wonderful to see.

Comparing this to Twilight, even a ‘poor man’s Twilight’ is stupid as the plot is completely different. If there are any similarities, check copyrights of the books before commenting.

  8. @Lou you don’t need HD to see VD it’s an SD channel and they can be bought for less than $50 now, that said the HD set top boxes are less than $100 at many stores. Maybe it’s time to save up.

  9. Thought Nine should have done this anyway and use the Vampire Diaries as a cross promotion leading up to the so called big launch of GO on Oct 4. Would have been better off later in the week though for more prmotion time.

  10. @george

It’s slated for 10:30pm in place of Little Britain

Little Britain and Little Britain USA are two different shows produced by the same people. Channel nine I think has the rights to little britain and channel 10 to little britain usa.

  11. David, should we assume Nine will repeat this show Every week on Nine, or for those of us without HD going to miss out every week and shouldn’t bother with the first episode?

  12. I liked the vampire diaries, it lived up to my expectations (dawson’s creek meets dracula), and like Smallville, it’s not great, but it somehow keeps me watching. Also, I think it’s impossible for anything to be a poor man’s twilight.

  13. Apprentice might do ok wed night at 10pm out of Hey Hey…I still reckon masterchef will win the head to head with Hey Hey but nine should win the night with Daryl et al on for 2.5 hours.

  14. Ha! I wrote earlier today that Nine should show Vampire Diaries and use as a GO cross promotion but they should have made it Wednesday night instead of the Apprentice which will rate very poorly (actually, to be honest, I really don’t think Hey Hey will do that well for them considering the competition and the fact that it is on Saturday night as well). That would give a day extra to promote.

I guess Nine owes GO some programming time after the Apprentice fiasco!

  15. I have seen three episodes of this show so far … and it is Not living up to expectations or the hype … it is a poor man’s Twighlight … and not all that enganing … even gets boring at some parts of the episodes … This is the show that should have been cancelled by CW, not “The Beautiful Life” which is so much more engaging than this one!
    Jack!

  16. i tipped 9 to win wednesday, but this changes things

this will bring down 9’s share for the night greatly, making it a more even playing field for anyone to take. it didn’t make 700k for the highly promoted premier at 9:30, how low can the repeat, at 10:00 with no promotion?

  17. Shouldn’t that be the normal Little Britain? As that’s what all the tv guides have and the USA version is currently airing on Ten.

So the “To be Advised” after the Hey Hey reunion is the replay of The Apprentice Australia. For a while there I thought it was going to be Two And a Half Men repeats.

  18. Thought this might be the case when looking at the TV guide and noticed the “To Be Advised”. Had to be a Monday show given it would be a tough night against 7 and the time length indicated Appentice over the Mentalist… unless they were allowing time for Hey Hey to run late (which it will).
