Airdate: Dead Set

Yee-har. The zombie horror thriller which takes place on the UK set of Big Brother heads up 'Zombie Season' on SBS ONE!

dsetOk you’ve been waiting for this one and here it comes:

Dead Set the a BAFTA-nominated, five-part zombie horror thriller created by Charlie Brooker, which takes place on the set of the television show Big Brother is coming in November.

Excitingly, November is also being billed as ‘Zombie Season’ on SBS ONE.

Britain has a big problem. The dead are returning to life and attacking the living. The people they kill get up and kill – and it’s spreading like wildfire. Curiously, there are a few people left in Britain who aren’t worried about any of this – that’s because they’re the remaining contestants in the television show Big Brother. Cocooned in the safety of the Big Brother house, they’re blissfully unaware of the horrific events unfolding outside.

Kelly, the production runner working on Big Brother, finds herself caught in the impossible position of trying to fend off the walking dead alongside the remaining housemates, the presenter Davina McCall, former housemates, her producer boss Patrick, and her boyfriend Riq.

Over the ensuing days, in a cruel reflection of the game show they thought they were entering, the contestants fall victim, one by one, to the hungry masses outside. Staying alive requires teamwork – which is tricky when you’re a group specifically selected by TV producers to wind each other up.

It premieres Monday, 9 November at 10.00pm.

  1. This is an awesome 6-parter – great for Big Brother fans and Zombie fans alike… Somehow the two marry really well into this 2 hour program 😉

  2. Loved this show and it was great seeing Davina (the host) play herself.
    I must say though…
Record this and watch the episodes together! It is so much better if you watch it all in one hit.

Also, this ‘Zombie Season’ sounds very interesting and I’d love to know more.

  3. It’s pretty good, but could have been better – it feels like your stand Zombie flick. A shame most Australian audiences won’t pick up the subtleties because they haven’t seen BBUK.

  4. You know, they may have found a viable reason to watch Big Brother… well something like it anyway.

This looks good. Any ideas what other zombie shows SBS has lined up?
