Just another Sunday

Are we there yet? Sunday night was fairly unremarkable with some shows having to settle for 1m viewers, but SBS enjoying a little boost.

wd5It was just another Sunday, and another week with 60 Minutes and Australian Idol having to to settle for a million viewers.

Seven’s factual double The Force and Border Security were again the winners on 1.43m and 1.34m on a fairly unremarkable night.

The final episode of Rescue: Special Ops ended on 1.05m with a voice-over promising its return in 2010 -they declined to indicate whether it would be lucky enough to have a new night too. Rove’s 60 guests in 60 minutes provided a bit of fun, finishing with 852,000.

Who Do You Think You Are? with its guest Maggie Beer had its best episode so far, a more respectable 477,000.

GO! was again the icing on Nine’s cake, with Wipeout rising to 310,000 and its 4.3% share helping Nine win the night from Seven.

  1. Rescue:Special Ops will come back with another series next year – won’t they. Same time slot and everything. Can anybody confirm season 2 of Rescue and the return date.

  2. Who Does Maggie Beer Think She Is was a great episode. Full respect to SBS for adapting an international format to be just as engaging and well put together as the original.

  3. @ Frankie Thanks for that but it’s rating in Melbourne and tanking in Sydney so if Nine really re-commission (unbelievable) it’s because Melbourne is watching it despite being universally ignored by the critics.

  4. @ ronnie no your not the only one, i missed last nite because i got sick of the cheesy plot lines and the love lives between all that worked at the rescue station and by that i mean between themselves, does it happen so much in real life i dont know

  5. Things should get very interesting from next Sunday with 7two joining the fray – though its initial lineup is pretty underwhelming. But Seven’s shows could look quite high with the aggregation of 7two’s figures.

  6. I think Seven will win next Sunday as Nine has a three hour movie on – XIII Conspiracy. 7TWO won’t do as well as GO’s huge Sundays initially but should help Seven start getting network wins back.

  7. Am I the only person in Melbourne who thinks RSO is soapy rubbish? Season finale and GIgi works on her wedding day? As you do. Doesn’t anyone at HQ read this stuff?
