MasterChef Australia, is set to air in the UK.
Given the show was a local adaptation of the British format, it’s quite an achievement for FremantleMedia Australia.
Our version ramped up the output with 6 episodes a week, and was given the creative freedom by the Brits to vary the format accordingly. Clearly, they pulled it off, including with better production values.
The 72-episode series will air in the UK in January on general entertainment channel Watch before running on the Good Food channel from May.
Meanwhile, the 2010 has just started auditions, with word that the standard at the Adelaide auditions has already raised the bar.

I ‘d like to say to Masterchef Australia ”Well done”, nice format certainly better than the British version lol and i m british.
The UK Masterchef if quite pathetic compared to the Oz version. In fact having watched a few episodes, I find it difficult to endure many more. The level of professionalism in our series showed great planning and thought from the production team. The Brits could learn an enormous amount from us.
The two tired UK judges, expat John Torode(?) and Greg the fruiterer, are awful. I will be interested in hearing what the Brits think of our show.
the UK version of Masterchef is pretty lame, and I think it’s already been shown here on Foxtel?
Wow well done to Masterchef. I would say why don’t Ten show the UK version over summer break, even though US Biggest Loser and SYTYCD both bombed. But over Summer why not??
And Go Adelaide.
