Uh oh. Q & A is bound to be a tad controversial this week. Feminist and author Germaine Greer is set to appear on the panel, hosted by Tony Jones. Always worthy of a headline…
If that isn’t enough, NSW MP Belinda “Iguanagate” Neale is joining them.
Gruen Transfer’s Todd Sampson will also appear along with Senator Cory Bernardi and columnist Janet Albrechtsen.
It airs 9:30pm Thursday on ABC1.

Very odd that last week’s Q&A with Christopher Hitchens hasn’t warranted a separate entry in these pages. Not only was it a truly memorable event but, as I just found out, it was the highest rating (629.000) chapter of Q&A in recent weeks -perhaps ever- as well.
Agree the Chris Hitchens show last wek was simply superb. I loved the way he flayed into that Iranian woman in the audience. He called he a liar straight up and she just ended up looking like a fool. It’s a pity the other guests looked like they were just making up the numbers. I haven’t seen a report of Hitchens’ address at the “Festival of dangerous ideas” What happened to it? Germaine might still have a contribution to make to big ideas, it’s hard to see over her most recent pronouncements.
Germaine Greer is awesome! I’m sure she would gringe at that word but it is great to hear a perspective that no one else will give. I loved the refreshing perspective of Chris Hitchens last week and will be tuning in just for Germaine.
Tony Jones ruins this show with his constant interjections and pathetic questions.
I love Q and A, but love Burn Notice more so I’m watching that. It’s quite frustrating that most nights, most channels are showing rubbish and then they put Burn Notice on at the same time as Q and A!
Q and A suffers most when they feel the need to include a lunatic. Someone who raves on, is weird and/or offensive, and derails the interesting debate (usually a right wing commentator of some sort). There’s so many interesting, erudite people and then they have to give airtime to someone who adds zero value.
Not sure who this week’s lunatic is (or even if they have one). I don’t think Greer qualifies.
Germaine has turned into a bitter old woman, but in her earlier years, she was a doggone revolutionary!
Should be worth watching.
Ah! Janet! Yuck Germaine! Yikes Belinda!
First one is a war monger the secon pretentios self important the third a mean Robot!
Gee, Jed! I’m glad you’re not the one sitting in Chris Evans’ chair.
I don’t think Iguanagate is a concern with Neal anymore, it’s the whole Della Bosca cheating and then resigning incident.
Why is she even allowed back in the country? The Poms can have her, and Peter Andre.
Why waste Q&A’s time on this piece of trash Germaine Greer? Remember she was the one who took pot shots at Steve Irwin after he died.. I should go there just to put a bag over her head!
