reply for marco: yes i know its after pttr but when people watch a show and stay for the next one that does affect the show before because like a lot of people all saints was a aussie favourite and now replacing it with a american medical drama that is not as a ratings winner as greys then you will get people boycotting the show and that could affect pttr with how many will stay around for pp.
Undoubtedly PP will take a break over Christmas in the US, so I doubt PP will air here over Christmas/non-ratings – there’d be nothing to show! Only 4 eps of PP have aired so far. Shaun, how can the ratings of PTTR be affected, if PP comes *after* PTTR, not before it? Also, All Saints wishes it was the ratings success PTTR has always been.
I hope they don’t put those full on Medical Dramas against Rove again on a Sunday.
As much as some of you hate that talkshow with a Passion I find it along with many others a great way to end the week before going back to the workplace on Monday something light and entertaining.
The worse they could do is use Greys and PP as lead in programmes for Family Guy and American Dad.
As An All Saints replacement Either would do rather well.
How many ex All Saints Viewers will stick around for their American Replacements?
Be thankful if PP is not your thing there’s ladette to lady
Or now that I really think about it they probably intentionally put PP at 9:30 now so it will be finished earlier next year and then Greys will probably move to 9:30 following Rafters in June/July. Makes some sense actually.
Rafters won’t be starting till June/July I’m sure they can finish up the season of Greys by then even if it is with double episodes.
Well PTTR apparently wont be ready for February from what i have heard. So if they need a replacement while its off the air Grey’s could be the perfect fit. Considering the huge cliffhanger of last season. Plus Greys would move to 9:30pm after Rafters when it eventually would return.
PP could shift to 10:30pm and still get 600-700k. Its only a hypothetical though because Seven axed All Saints, something that should never had been done something has to replace it. Plus Grey’s is a proven 8:30pm hit.
Only One problem if they put Greys Anatomy and PP together and on a Tuesday Night and that is Where to Put Packed to the Rafters.
Won’t somebody think of the OC/New 90210 generation first. who can’t stand Medical Dramas or find them way too heavy at all times.
Tuesday for as long as I can remember across the board for most channels was either family friendly light viewing night. Ditch PTTR for boring as hell Medical Dramas that unless you have an interest in such things You might as well watch the Adults only 2.5 men and Ladette to Lady at the Present time.
that is not good for sevens tuesday lineup where i bet pttr will be affected and there goes another of 7s hit shows falling in the ratings and they will be back to the drawn board and pp is no ratings success as all saints is so i think disaster is going to be the answer for 7s line up from now on.
nooo should have put Mercy there. PP needs to be with Greys !!!
@Tasha I don’t think it will be running over summer I think Private Practice will be taking a break for summer.
Mercy likely won’t make it to a second season, it hasn’t been rating well here or in the US. I doubt it will get promoted from the 10.30pm slot, especially after consistently losing half of its FlashForward lead-in.
This sucks actually. There is a crossover episode between ep 4 of Greys and ep 3 of PP. Its minor as it does contain Bailey but one of the Grey’s storylines follows Bailey to PP. Does this mean maybe next year what i predicted will happen? Greys at 8:30pm Tuesday followed by PP. Then when PTTR comes back they shift 1 hour back.
I must say the season opener was one of the best I’ve seen this year, but I must asked what about the cross over ep that comes up early in the new season with Greys Anatomy, will Seven pull a Nine and show GA as a one off that night to screw with fans??
PP without Greys, that can’t be allowed. And it”ll be running over the summer too, great i’ll have to record them all. Thanks Seven! <_<
@Beckala, clearly 7 do not care about confusing their viewers. Damnit.
private practice should follow grey’s anatomy when it comes back, and they should put mercy on instead of all saints
Glad to have it back but without Greys?
I liked the double header of greys and practice earlier this year and was hoping it would return the same. Oh well; at least we get the cliffhanger resolved.
Marco there is at least one crossover episode with Chandra Levy, so it will stuff it up royally. Why would they bring back that and not Greys? I know which cliffhanger I’m desperate to see resolved…
PP has never rated not even after the compatiable Greys. It only managed between 600-800k on most nights and rarely won its slot in key demographics. I say this is a bad move but maybe they are trying to expose it now to get its figures up next year. I think we might see a shift of Greys to tuesdays next year with this move as well.
Which they should follow with Mercy rather than having Mercy on Monday nights.
Well lets see if that crack the 1 million mark like all saints did. Bet it doesn’t.
That’s interesting. Hopefully there are no crossover episodes with Grey’s Anatomy this season then, which would create storyline confusion if Grey’s is not back until 2010.
Time will tell if PP is a good replacement for All Saints. However I think PP best rated when it is shown after Grey’s Anatomy.
Oh no a clash with The Wire.
At least I get to find out what happens to VIolet sooner than later.
