Returning: The Circuit

Aaron Pedersen returns as city lawyer Drew Ellis in SBS' award-winning drama The Circuit this December.

Circuit 2SBS drama The Circuit returns to screen for its second series in December.

Aaron Pedersen returns as city lawyer Drew Ellis tackles the legal system of the remote Kimberley.

But his new sense of belonging comes at a cost, and fitting into his Aboriginal family is not going to be an easy task. Clerk of Courts, Bella Noble (Tammy Clarkson) suffers a personal tragedy, and Drew helps her back from a dark place, as their friendship turns into something more.

Meanwhile, Peter Lockhart’s (Gary Sweet) tenure as Magistrate is threatened, and Sam Wallan (Kelton Pell) is forced to put to rest the demons of his past before he can finally save his family.

Facing new cases, new dilemmas, it’s a sweaty, dusty journey for the travelling Circuit team, struggling for justice in a world where one law for two cultures doesn’t equal a fair go.

The support cast also includes Marta Kaczmarek as Ellie Zdybicka (Legal Aid Lawyer), Nick Simpson-Deeks as Archie McMahon (Journalist), and Bill McCluskey as Sergeant bob “Shirley” Temple (Prosecutor), with special guest stars Tom E. Lewis, Kris McQuade and David Ngoombujarra.

Dramatically filmd in the Kimberley region of North Western Australia, the series captures the wet and the dry, where people try to integrate and get along, with varying degrees of success.

The series returns to screens 8:30pm Tuesday December 1st on SBS ONE.
