RocKwiz charts national tour

RocKwiz has announced a 2010 national tour to 19 cities across Australia -the first in its 5 year history.

rw3SBS music trivia show RocKwiz is about to hit its 100th episode.

And to celebrate its longevity, the show has announced an Australian tour -the first in its five year history.

Last night at St. Kilda’s Esplanade Hotel cast and crew were joined by SBS executives and Mushroom Records founder Michael Gudinski.

An excited co-creator Brian Nankervis told the room the tour would visit 19 cities across Australia.

“We leave Melbourne about March 19, we come back sometime in June. In that time we visit Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, Cairns, Adelaide, Bundaberg, Townsville, Nambour, Canberra -Dugald is actually masterminding the whole thing,” he said.

The tour will also visit Toowoomba, Tamworth, Newcastle, Wollongong, Perth, Mackay, Gladstone, Hobart, Launceston and Melbourne.

“We’re doing the Enmore in Sydney, the QPAC in Brisbane, we are doing big rooms. It will be like a normal show where we get the contestants from the audience. We’ll have specials guests, we’ll be doing a Snob’s Choice -I’m the Snob so I get to have my Choice. We might bring back the karaoke that we did in our very first pilot where the contestants got to sing.

“Ideally we’ll do an encore, so if Missy Higgins and Tex Perkins are the artists they’ll come back and do a few more songs,” said Nankervis.

“We’re very excited about it!”

Tickets for the tour go on sale October 29th. For more info check newworldartists.net
