Sigrid Thornton to present Aussie movie classics

Sigrid Thornton has joined with Movie Extra to introduce classic Aussie movies in November, in the lead up to the 2009 AFI Awards.

Each night in November at 8:30pm Movie Extra viewers will be treated to Aussie classics including Gallipoli, Muriel’s Wedding, Dead Calm and Picnic At Hanging Rock as part of its AFI Month.

Movie Extra has previously used Aussie actors to host special events, including Damian Walshe-Howling.

Thornton also has a role in the third series of Underbelly and is the subject of this Sunday’s Who Do You Think You Are? on SBS.

The channel will again broadcast of the AFI Awards in early December.
