7TWO amendments

Some minor changes to 7TWO affecting mostly late night vintage AFL matches.

aflPrior to its launch today at 12pm, 7TWO has made some adjustment to its first week of programming.

The introduction to the channel is now ten minutes instead of five with Michael Jackson: His Latest Televised Concert to commence at 12:10pm.

There have been episode changes to The Jay Leno Show weekdays at 6pm -though it isn’t clear how…

From 1am Wednesday night (Thursday morning) vintage AFL Footy Flashbacks have been ditched, to be replaced with The Mole and followed by Home Shopping at 2am. From 4am it airs The Body Specialists, Medical Rookies and Kids Time from 5am.

AFL Footy Flashbacks are also out a week later on the morning of Thursday November 12  and November 19. But the games remain screening late nights on other days.

  1. I’d personally rather watch infomercials than “classic” AFL games …. Heck, I’d rather watch “classic” news broadcasts than either of them.

  2. @Earthquake Not a fan of “the Victorian” game ey, where do you live, the year 1870?
As a proud Western Australian coming from a long tradition of Australian Football players and supporters over generations going back to the 19th Century, your comments offend me deeply.
Australian Football is a game played by all Australians not just Vics.

  3. Home Shopping and that Hugh Sheridan – wow, a less than tremendous start to 7TWO – what else is there to make us switch off. Sheridan’s song is horrible, stick to something you may be good at.

  4. I think ditching AFL all together, sorry but there is enough sport on all channels, we dont need *classic* AFL on an entertainment channel. Also infomercials should be kept for the main channels (if we really do need them at all). GO is some reprieve, and I think it’ll still be the main choice in my home!

  5. As a night owl – to be fair, early morning owl would be more accurate – the best things about Go! is that they don’t show infomercials in the early hours. Seven (Two) should follow suit.
Oh, and also get rethink the massive block of old AFL. Maybe they could also play classic news bulletins? *cough*

Each week, Mediaweek produce a podcast covering the television industry and what is happening. Recently, they had Seven’s director of programming and production, Tim Worner walk through the new 7TWO channel.

(By the way, it was a good listen, and very informative).

Tim said that the Jay Leno show being aired would be the same one that has just aired in the US – He also said that it would go to air on 7TWO about an hour before it does on the Foxtel Comedy channel i.e. the same episode.

Considering the podcast was only this week, not too sure as to why and/ or what the changes will be. Guess we will just have to wait as see…

  7. OMG people……. 1 day a week of a 2 hrs of infomercials. Not a big deal at all. I’m wrapped there’s still 6 days of Classic AFL.

Daniel G – Hamish & Andy are on Leno again this coming week…. I reckon that’ll be the one they’ll show.

    James!

  8. Be good to see The Mole again, but Home Shopping. Bugger that. I thought this channel was meant to offer an alternative and sintead they go and fill it with hours of endless ads. Not a good move if you want peopel to watch.
