Susan Olsen aka Cindy Brady says her former co-stars have fallen out after false publication of a 'Brady affair.'

“I don’t like there to be a rift in the family,” said Susan Olsen. “I love them both and this means whenever we get together for any project there will only be one or the other. But I do understand Eve’s point of view.”
Olsen, who memorably played Cindy Brady in The Brady Bunch was responding to the widely reported rift that has emerged between former co-stars Maureen McCormick (Marcia) and Eve Plumb (Jan).
“She got tired of Maureen gaining attention for herself by regurgitating the tiresome and false insinuations that they had a lesbian affair,” asserts Olsen.
In her autobiography, McCormick “joked” that she and her on-screen sister had a girl-on-girl affair while working together. It got her plenty of publicity when launching the book, but Plumb saw it for what it was.
“Eve probably taught me more just because she was closer to my age and a novelty,” said Olsen. “I already had a real life sister Maureen’s age (they used to hang out together.) Eve was closer in age to me and I really looked up to he.
“Even then she was very involved in art and encouraged me to be a free thinker. She taught me about style and makeup and I saw her as a very sophisticated role model.”
These days Olsen, who is on the board of directors for Precious Paws is developing a show revolving around animal rescue.

Bronte, you’re just like that mean old Buddy Hinton who used to tease me with “baby talk, baby talk, it’s a wonder you can walk”. We all know what happened to him, don’t we now.
I was going to mention The Brady Brides and Eve’s appearance in that although she probably regrets it now 🙂
Funny how many of the classic tv shows have one cast member who refuses to do reunions and such. Tina Louise refused to associate with anything Gilligan’s Island and was replaced as Ginger in the movies.
Eve was also replaced in at least one of the Brady Bunch reunion specials. Clearly the on-screen jealousies were a reflection of the off-screen ones.
Ahh the Brady Bunch Variety Hour. Klassik kamp telly. Yes she was replaced by Geri Resch after she tried to mature with non-Brady like gigs such as Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway. But she also returned for later sequels and spin-offs including the horrid Brady Brides and the kitschy A Very Brady Christmas. Sounds like the latest bout could be a bit of a sticking point, tho…
LMAO at Thindy Brady comment. The Jan rumour was around for years. Think it came from the Brady Bunch variety show they did (lame but golden at the same time) cause they had a replacement Jan. And for the record, Marcia was the one for me tho gone off her a bit now with the book
Another George Glass reference lol. I hope Susan does patch things up as I hate to think of my favorite tv fam fighting. Funny how life imitates art though..can just imagine Eve at home..Maureen Maureen Maureen!
Newtaste – I heard that rumour too when I was 14. It devastated me as I had a crush on Jan Brady (I know, i know – weird).
George Glass would be jealous!
I so wish this article was called: Thindy Brady: peathmaker
What about the long-standing rumour that Eve Plumb is dead?
