Numb3rs trimmed by CBS

CBS has sliced some of the numbers of Numb3rs, trimming its current episode run from 22 to 16.

numbCBS has sliced some of the numbers of Numb3rs, trimming its current episode run from 22 to 16.

A move like that would generally indicate the beginning of the end.

Its ratings have slipped in its sixth season, averaging 7.9 million viewers overall.

Part of the reason could also be that CBS has a couple of drama series for its midseason including a renewal of the Canadian police drama Flashpoint.

In Australia the series has never particularly been big for TEN but has suited the network in a 9:30pm slot, generally when the shelf is looking a little bare. It was included in TEN’s 2010 showreel last week to media buyers.

CBS said no decision has been made on its future.

  1. Maybe now it will finally be canceled. Easily one of the most derivative crime shows there are, and certainly no NCIS or Mentalist. The characters just don’t have any depth.

  2. I’m still loving this show, easily one of the more original crime shows around and has always been consistet. But it was in with Without a Trace and Cold Case in the cancellation stakes last season. I think we were lucky to get this season at all, no matter how many eps. Hopefully if this is the end, we’ll get a good ending 🙂

  3. I didnt realise they were on sesaon 6 already, I thought maybe season 4 by now. Never got into this show on TEN or TV1. I wonder if the more shows these days will start to fade off after a short number of seasons.
