On the Orange Carpet

KCA 11Friday’s Kids’ Choice Awards was a chance to throw a question (and not much more than 1) to some of television’s famous faces.

Here is a random selection answers from questions posed by TV Tonight on the Orange Carpet.

Charlie Pickering on The 7PM Project‘s extra time over summer:

“Every day that we do the show we wind up having to drop stuff. So having that extra thirty minutes allows us to stretch our legs and have a bit more fun over summer.

“The other night we had Ben Elton and George Negus talking about the Berlin Wall coming down, and to me that was a highlight of the show. All I wanted was another ten minutes talking about it and so having the extra half hour will definitely allow more time for that.”

Carrie Bickmore on The 7PM Project:

“It’s still fun, it’s not work yet. And we’re taking the show on the road to other cities.”

(Hmmmm…interesting…).

KCA 6Rachael Finch on who won Celebrity MasterChef:

“I’m sworn to secrecy! But it was amazing. It completely developed my knowledge of food, ingredients, cooking techniques. I’ve always loved cooking. It was incredible.”

KCA 9Sam Clark on Neighbours:

“I’m on a 3 month break to work on my music, but I’ll be off air at the start of next year and then I come back. So I’m going around the country promoting my single. It’s out today, called Broken. I didn’t write this song but I wrote a bunch of other tracks on the album.”

Dean Geyer on the last 12 months:

“I spent some time in the US auditioning. I’ve got a manager over there now which is fantastic. A lot of people say LA is a really seedy place, but you know what, it can be, but when you’re working it’s great. It’s good to be back. I’m writing another album independently which is good and I’m planning to go back in February.”

KCA 13Andrew Gunsberg on who has the best Australian Idol insider info:

“If you really want a good quote talk to Dave our music director, he’s seen it all. But I’m really looking forward to the Opera House. We rehearsed in Bennelong last year because there was a cold front coming in. We actually rehearsed the whole thing inside, but luckily we did it outside.”

Jessica Mauboy on being the entertainment at TEN’s 2010 launch, and life after Idol:

“Those events are the hardest but I knew inside they were wanting to get up and dance. I did Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. TEN have been really supportive.

“The (post Idol) space has allowed me to take a breath and work out what direction I want to go in. It’s another world. But it’s all about working hard. There’s no sitting back and letting them come to you. You have to work really hard.”

Neighbours‘ James Sorensen on how he will spend his Xmas break:

“I’m off to the Falls Festival and apart from that a lot of physical training. A lot of triathlons, swimming and catching up with my running. A couple of cast members might go Hamilton Island together. Why not spend the Xmas break with the people you love?”

iCarly‘s Miranda Cosgrove on constantly being compared to Miley Cyrus, and future projects:

“I think it’s cool, she’s a great performer, so it’s really nice. I’m my own person, but it’s still cool, I don’t mind.

“I’m getting ready to start a movie called How Can You Do This To Me? and an animated movie called Despicable Me with Steve Carell.
