  1. I always thought Piers Ackerman of the “Daily Telegraph” fame was somewhat biased and one sided but after listening to and digesting what David Marr had to say, I now realise that Marr takes the prize for being the most sarcastic, “high and mighty” in his opinion only, and biased journalist this country has seen in many a long year. Marr has a mind like a steel trap – nothing gets in. How anyone can take what Marr says seriously is verty astounding. As Joe Hockey told him when Marr in a derisorily manner said:”Oh another book on the Christian religion, I’ll look forward to that” (or words to this effect), Mr. Hockey replied: “who said it was on Christianity? It could be on Islam……perhaps you should read it as you may then become more tolerant”. Well said Mr. Hockey, and go edit yourself Marr.

  2. I think David Marr was the best and most intelligent speaker of the night…. He said something very noteworthy about the current debate on the asylum seekers… that we in Australia should “all calm down” pointed at the current level of intolerant hysteria surrounding the “boat people”. Well said David!

  3. Carolyn Gillis obviously doesn’t know much about horses or horse racing. Horses actually love racing each other and many can’t wait to get out onto the track. I agree that heavy usage of the whip should be outlawed, but most good jockeys use the whip judiciously just to remind the horse to try a little harder for a little longer to get over the line. As for Q &A this week, David Marr as usual annoyed the hell out of me. He is such a sulky petulant fellow I think he must have a painful bunion on his toe. He used to be so vocal in his vicious criticisms of the former federal government, now he doesn’t know what to say, as Labor with little wonder Rudd at the helm is so grossly mismanaging the whole asylum seeker issue. Is David Marr finally realizing that little Rudd has feet of clay? Maxine McKew is still basking in her own glory at winning the seat of Bennelong. When is she actually going to do something noteworthy?

  4. I am appalled at the way Maxine McKew, David Marr and Kerry Chickarovski triviallised the whipping of horses on the Q and A program last night. May i suggest you have a look at the RSPCA website and you will be informed of its view. The abuse and suffering these innocent horses are enduring whilst earning hundreds of millions of dollars for the Government and the public is totally unacceptable. The RSPCA has been trying very hard to stop the cruelty of whipping racehorses which i believe is an offence against the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1979.
