Returning: Carols in the Domain

Kate Ritchie and Grant Denyer return to host Seven's annual Carols event in Sydney's Domain.

ritchdenKate Ritchie, who co-hosts the ARIA Awards this week for Nine, will return to Seven to co-host Carols in the Domain.

For the third year running she will co-host with Grant Denyer.

Performing in the 27th annual event are Adam Brand, Kasey Chambers, Leo Sayer, Georgie Parker, the cast of Wicked, Australia’s Got Talent winner Mark Vincent, The McClymonts and The Wiggles. More names, including international artists, are yet to be announced.

Ritchie, who will exit her Nova radio gig for a return to acting, said “It is incredibly beautiful….thousands upon thousands of glowing candles. The first year I stepped onto that stage I was completely overwhelmed. There is an incredible feeling of unity on the night. The Carols make everyone stop and enjoy the Christmas spirit. It is such an honour to host.”

Grant Denyer added: “It simply is the most breathtaking view you could ever imagine. The joy of one hundred thousand people singing their little souls out is electric. The candles and glowing faces are like a milky way of happiness. The sound is a symphony of joy. I may race V8 Supercars at over 300kmh but this experience softens the hardest tough men.”

The charity event to be held in Sydney’s Domain airs Saturday December 19th at 8.30pm on Seven.

  1. slightly off topic, but whats the go with Australias got talent? will it return? if it does they are cutting the audition call close. i guess they could do it after easter like in 2008 with danii only via satellite in the last few eps.

but maybe there is some truth to those rumours that it is not returning.
