They shoot newsreaders don’t they?
No rivalry between Seven's Brissy news girls Sharyn Ghidella and Kay McGrath, but plenty of Cup week metaphors.

After last week’s reports that Seven News weekend presenter Sharyn Ghidella had sealed a tidy $600,000 contract (which she has since denied) with Seven Brisbane, now weekday newsreader Kay McGrath has dismissed any hint of rivalry.
According to the Courier Mail -part of the same News Limited empire which broke the first story- they are on similar pay packets.
Being Cup week, McGrath used metaphors of “staying power” and the ability of two horses to be “compatible in the stable.”
So there we have it.
Just don’t ask what happens to horses when they break a leg.

Thirty years…
21 at Seven, 9 at TV0, now Brisbane Ten.
As for Kay, I hope they put her out to stud, on her terms. I remember Kay promising to Frank Warrick many moons ago, something of a farewell equal to Frank’s.
Love Kay in the National news. Call me bias but I have always thought she deserved a go at a national profile.
Kay has had a good run on Seven Brisbane for 30 years and can’t stay in her job forever.
Meow!
Yes…well my Nan always had a nickanme for her: Mouth.
