Unfinished Heroes

Uh oh. Here's hoping 7TWO doesn't leave the season of Heroes unfinished.

hro7TWO will air the last episode of Heroes for 2009 on December 9th with the episode “Brother’s Keeper.”

The episode aired in the US this week.

But there are two other eps “Thanksgiving” and “The Fifth Stage” yet to air in the US on November 23 and 30th which could potentially go begging here.

After that debacle of episodes left on the shelf because of the Writers’ Strike one hopes we’re not going to be left with another unfinished season.

  1. IMDB shows 18 episodes, although it doesn’t have airing dates after episode 11.

Based on that, I would say it is a reasonable assumption it will come back in the US next year.

  2. David you’re wrong, 7two, will be airing all episodes of heroes, this week it airs episodes 7 and 8, Strange attractors and Once upon a time in texas, then on wednesday December 2nd, it airs episodes 9 and 10, shadow boxing and brother’s keeper and then on Wednesday December 9, it airs the last 2 episodes of heroes for the year, as Heroes is going on a break in the Us, episodes 11 and 12, Thanksgiving and the fifth stage.

  3. Chris says it all, my two fav shows on 7 were Heroes and 24, it was seven’s intransigence on keeping them in a regular timeslot that forced me to stop watching ‘live’ commercial TV in Aus, everything, everything on free tv gets recorded and if the series being recorded disappears (buried, removed etc) before it’s run is finished, the tape is wiped and the series sourced from elsewhere – simple

  4. Not Again. I’m still scarred from when they abruptly stopped Season 2 (I think it was) for the Olympics and we had to wait until they were showing Season 3 (which I think was the next year, or a damn long time at the very least) to see the remaining 2 or 3 episodes. But yeah, I too thought that 7TWO was meant to stop this from happening.

  5. @tas

Do a Google search for “Chuck Lorre Vanity Cards” and you will see quite a few websites where you can see them all.

Admittedly not quite the same as pausing and reading it on screen.

  6. agree with bogues, they’re just creating a buffer for when the show returns next year. Similar to Gll this year, TEN held it off 2 or 3 weeks so that when it recently took a break, it didnt have to wait for new eps.
Cant wait for next year, both Heroes and Lost in decent timeslots!!

  7. @bindi, Big Bang Theory too. What’s annoying is that once in a blue moon Nine decides that they will show the vanity card after all, and you never know when to press the freeze frame button.

  8. At least when GO! aired multi eps of Seinfeld they keep the credits in full.

BTW Showcase has just started airing Carnivale (the HBO show which previously aired here on ABC) and they had a double ep for 1&2, at the end they showed both lots of credits on a split screen. They have done the same for a few shows including the first two Tangle eps.

IMO there is nothing wrong with removing the credits as long as it doesn’t affect the flow of the show or they cut scenes from the eps.

  9. They must be shown without a break!! I’m only watching this season because I don’t believe heroes will (or should) be back for another season and I like to finish what I start. IMO Heroes is not very good this year and if other people feel the same way they may not come back and watch if 7 doesn’t keep the momentum going.

  10. This doesn’t make sense. Why stop short?

@bindi: Yes, GO! removes closing and opening credits in double episodes of Survivor. Which is doubling annoying because you don’t get to see who voted for whom at the end of the first ep, nor do you get to see the eliminated person’s final words.

  11. One would assume that 7two would resume screening the series when February ratings return, wouldn’t they? Builds a bit of a buffer to minimizing pre-emptive programming too.

  12. Thus another reason not to rely on local TV, I thought the 2nd channels were meant to stop this but as we have seen on GO! and 7TWO it’s business as usual when it comes to programing… plus doesn’t Heroes have more eps for 2010 to end the series? From what I read there are 19 eps in the 4th season, 10 have aired in the US.

  13. why did they decide to stop them on the 9th anyway, is there any kind of reason? nothing to do with the non-ratings season, too early for christmas, is there some other show that just has to take that slot the next week? the reasons of programmers continue to baffle me.

7TWO still persists in removing the opening titles and end credits whenever they show doubles or triples of shows, are they allowed to just rob the people who made the shows of their due credit like this? GO! never does this.
