“You Blogged. We Listened” it says.

TEN has acknowledged the growing importance of social networking and new media in advertisements for The Office, which responded to ongoing requests to give the US sitcom an earlier timeslot.

The ad for the upcoming episodes, which will air Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm in December, said:

“I need my office fix” jenniferm
“Very unfriendly timeslot” -holly go-lightly
“why is the office on so late?” -nathans1
“I wish they would air more of the office” -kayzpal

TEN continues to show it is the network that pays attention to the voice of its viewers.

  1. Great idea! Extending 7pm project for an hour mon and fri over Summer is also something suggested on blog spots.. should allow some more substance…. hope it works 🙂

  2. now lets hope 7 also listen to blogs and air 30rock at a decent timeslot. they should put it on 7.30-8.30 mondays instead of gary unmarried. that show is the most cringe-worthy show i have ever seen and it makes rules of engagement seem like comedy gold. gary unmarried belongs in late night or daytime television, not in primetime.
then again, all the less educated people will lap up a comedy with a laugh track telling them when to laugh instead of listening to the actual dialog and laughing at their own discretion.

  3. Haha, I think they missed the boat on the opportunity to see healthy audience numbers. Then again, this show routinely beats CSI in the demos in the USA with less than half the number of total viewers.

  4. After closely watching the UK version I just couldn’t get into this. But seeing how well it’s done in the US I suppose I’ll give it another go. I’ll give props to TEN for persisting.

  5. Yeah saw the ad last night, and thought good on em. And so they should listen to us. Now just hope they don’t change their minds if it doesn’t get the numbers they want. Let it grow, and it can hardly do worse than some of the stuff they already put on.

  6. If only they would listen about advertisments and their apparent volume (if its the compression, decompress them, if its volume then lower it) or when i get a DVR i will fast forward them without reservation (its just as easy to FF as it is to turn down the volume), and those damn annoying promos during the credits (esp when they interfere with special credits).

  7. @Whoops – What is their line going to be when it doesn’t perform and they yank it off air again????

The Office didn’t perform so we yanked it off!
    “That’s what she said!”

  8. They listened by putting it on in an earlier timeslot over summer when audience numbers are generally down. Not much risk in that. Are they at least starting with a new season so people aren’t thrown into already progressing stories?

  9. If TEN show The Office patience and respect I will stop seeing the show elsewhere; of course I have already seen up to the current US episode in Season 6 – but if they can catch up by Season 7 I will gladly watch on TEN. I’m still going to watch the episodes at 8pm anyway because the show is so rewatchable and makes me laugh so much, so really no loss to me; its just nice to have it on at an early time!

  10. fully! prob read from this site too, i have heard so many ask for it 2 b earlier.
ten listened to us about idol and moved it and listened to us about bringing burn notice back and they did
