GO! will air the short-lived US drama series New Amsterdam, in which a homicide detective has a secret of immortality.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Black Hawk Down) stars as John Amsterdam, who after saving the life of an American Indian girl in 1642 was granted immortaliy,a spell only broken when he finds his one true love.
These days he is a New York homicide detective whose sole confidant and current lifelong friend is sage jazz club owner Omar (Stephen Henderson).
When Amsterdam suffers and then recovers from what appears to be a massive heart attack while chasing a suspect he realises that the Indian girl’s prophesy might finally be coming true…and his soul mate must be nearby.
But the show had a troubled airing on FOX with production pausing after just seven episodes, with the Pilot leaked to the internet. Only 8 eps aired in the US.
The series also features Zuleikha Robinson (Hidalgo) and Alexie Gilmore (Definitely, Maybe).
It begins on GO! on Wednesday, December 30 at 9.30pm.

David, the tag for New Amsterdam is missing.
Like most her I’ve been waiting to see this one, never got the chance before and now it make sense since Nine had the rights. I like watching short live show when you know they are, hate getting hooked only for them to cancel it.

It seems strange that Go are so Keen to air this show considering how few episodes there are. Hopefully fans of Gossip Girl will find out when this show will be airing again.
@bindi – I am not sure that is correct . My tv’s electronic programme guide is saying 40 Greatest Celeb Pranks and South Park double this Thursday however the GO! channel website is saying 3 Gossip Girl’s are on as is the yourtv.com.au online tvguide.
If it wasn’t on I would assume there would be a note on their website as they have been doing for the last few weeks. If it isn’t on then they would have to show them next week as the week after next week starting Jan 07th is the all new line up of Gossip Girl (Season 2 ) , Side Order of Life , and The Hills (New free to air episodes).
I will post again here when I find out if it Gossip Girl is well and truly out for Christmas Eve.
I’ve been really wanting to see this since Nikolaj was cast as Jaime in Game of Thrones. Hope it’s good, but not so good that I’ll be annoyed when it ends so shortly.

also I see that the gossip girl triple that was meant to be on this thursday is now off the cards with not even 1 episode this week, does it really rate that terribly?
