Airdate: Stephen King’s Nightmares and Dreamscapes

Melbourne doubles for international locales as Aussie actors star alongside big US names in this 2006 anthology series coming to GO!

nightmares-and-dreamscapes8Filmed in Melbourne in 2006 is the anthology series Nightmares and Dreamscapes, an eight part horror / mystery series based on short stories by Stephen King.

Already aired on Pay Television, the rather uneven series includes the stories Crouch End, Battleground, The Road Virus Heads North and Autopsy Room Four -but there are some goodies amongst them.

As well as various Melbourne sites doubling as international locales, the cast includes Greta Scacchi, Rebecca Gibney, Sigrid Thornton, Kristian Schmid, Susie Porter, Marg Downey, Kym Gyngell, Jacqueline McKenzie alongside Tom Berenger, William H. Macy, Kim Delaney, Ron Livingston, William Hurt, Richard Thomas and Samantha Mathis.

The series was one of the first projects filmed at Melbourne’s Central City Studios.

It begins Wednesday, January 6th at 10.30pm on GO!

  1. Unfortunately the first story is supposed to be set in London and anyone who has been there knows they do not have Connex Trams, yellow taxi cabs or the same architecture! A little bit too obvious! I even spotted a house I used to rent in Fitzroy! I guess who ever produced the show assumed the audience were a little inept!
