Sorry ER fans…
Even in summer you get no lovin’.
From next week Nine replaces ER with CSI: NY -and repeats no less.
Last night it took 373,000 which was its first episode back after a few weeks out of schedule.
Could it come to GO? Unlikely it fits the channel’s demographics.
Keep you posted….

Arghhh….I’m so angry! How many years does this have to go on for? Channel Nine you (still) suck!
Just got TV Week and they have a double page spread “Happy Birthday ER” for 300 eps, too bad its not actually on right now…
I agree with everyone else on the GO demographics not being totally locked into youth. Seriously, one more Seinfield episode re-run is going to kill me. And now that the theme nights are out because certain series have finished or are on long hiatus, hello Vamp Diaries – let’s have Medical Mondays and take two hour slots.
Why not even burn it off on Saturday nights on GO, surely the demand for Green Acres can’t be swamping the Nine switchboard at all hours?
It will be back on nine next year no doubt, not that i watch this show
No Wilmawalrus, not pay tv, we don’t all have it!
Another channel or GO! would do nicely.
Theres only 1.5 seasons left for goodness sake – just show it til its finished and be done with it. Its got to be the most complained about show for being taken off air for Channel 9, up there with Survivor!
it didn’t rate not because people didn’t want to watch it, but because it kept being shown in a late timeslot on an inconsistent basis. It’s probably my favourite drama series ever, and it’s been heartbreaking to not be able to follow through with it. It’s now been off for so long in the States, it’s very difficult to find it elsewhere! Channel 9 is pathetic and doesn’t deserve to have the rights – give it to pay TV!
So they buy all these series, but pull them after 1 ep, cause of low ratings. Wouldnt they be better off just showing them at a decent time and reaping in some cash from adverts while they can instead of it sitting around collecting dust in the basement. Ah I just see it now 100 years from now. Some young work experience kid will stumble upon all the unseen eps of TV series of long ago. Everyone will marvel over them and wonder why they were never shown. They will then become instant rating winnings and in the background you will hear the rustle of Channel 9 exutives rolling in their graves and trying to kick themselves.
It was only a matter of time as Nine has repeatedly screwed with ER. Why not put it on at midnight, let fans record it and finally show us Season 14 and 15? S14 and 15 rated well in the US. If given half a chance they may have rated well here. Looks like I’ll be buying the DVDs from o/s
David when did you write this article? Last week? 😉
oh come on!! they’re so behind now, im not surprised they dont stash it away in a weekend afternoon timeslot like with the last season of Charmed :S They should definitely just test it out on Go before they try to put it back on Nine again :S
They should still move ER to GO, in double episodes each week. I wouldn’t class The Wire as a youth demographic show (it’s for more discerning viewers, most of whom are aged over 21), yet GO are showing the last season of it.
I lost interest in ER years ago but did catch the final eps back in May as I know it will be years before Nine shows them. Come on put it on GO!, late night on Nine or just give the rights to 111 hits at least we know where to get the DVDs if we want to catch up later..
It was performing well when it first returned; Nine just need to get this show out of the way its been finished for far too long now.
i dont watch ER but 9 just show the remaning episodes or hand it over to 111 hits who would treat it much better than your pathetic attempts
I have you nine!
I think ER would be fine on GO! It’d probably rater higher than Gossip Girl.
Do all TV programmers suffer from ADD???
Why can’t they leave a show in regular timeslot for once?
Well what do nine expect, million viewvers in that late time slot. Its no wonder I buy a lot of tv series on dvd to watch. At least I get to see the whole series in the Correct order. Thanks for nothing nine as usual!
Unbelievable. A quality show that’s just being dumped. Bizarre. For God sake just put it on like Travis says. I’ve been watching it ever since it started and would like to see it through to the end.
Channel nine needs to sack its programming person. My parrot could do a better job.
I would almost guarantee that if you asled 100 people what time ER was on during the week, 95 wouldn’t even know it was on, let alone what time…
so much for the term ‘non-ratings period’…
Nine – ER no longer rates as the fans have given up and are holding out for the DVD release or pay TV airing – not to mention the fact that noone ever knows when it is on anymore. Also the fact that last week it was back after being off for two weeks. Also – Nine won the ratings last night so why bother with the change?
Clearly you don’t care about it, Nine, so hand it over to 111 Hits so they can air S14 and S15 already. Then it can come out on DVD.
Why do they have to constantly replace new shows with repeats? Leave ER aloone, play it out, ratings will build.
CSI: NY is the worst of the franchise. Time to put ER on GO! whether it fits the demographics or not. I’m sure the people who watch The Vampire Diaries are not the same as those watching The Flintsones.
Such a sad state (not that I have ever watched it) for a show that was consistently number 1 in the ratings on Australian television.
I don’t watch this show, but could Nine just put it in a late night timeslot (12am) five nights a week? Get rid of it quickly.
