Mark Burnett for ASTRA conference

If SPAA’ Conference landed Mad Men‘s Mathew Weiner as a keynote speaker, ASTRA has secured Mark Burnett for its 2010 “The Future is Now” event.
A reality TV trailblazer, Burnett is the man behind Survivor, The Apprentice, Rock Star, Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? and The Contender -all but one of those titles has been replicated in Australia.
“The opportunity to share my experiences in the television production and development business with the Australian subscription television community is exciting.” he said. “I know from experience with our programs that the audience in Australia is sophisticated and at the cutting edge of what is happening internationally.
“I look forward to sharing a view of the future and program directions with the ASTRA conference attendees.”
“The Future is Now ASTRA 2010 Conference” is set for March 18 in Sydney drawing together subscription TV representatives.
