Matthew Hayden on Home Ground

Retired cricketer Matthew Hayden gets a six-part one-hour series that follows a quest to achieve a more self-sufficient, sustainable lifestyle.

mhThe LifeStyle Channel has signed retired cricketer Matthew Hayden for a six-part one-hour series that looks at his other passions in life: family, love of the outdoors and food.

Matthew Hayden’s Home Ground sees Hayden on a quest to achieve a more self-sufficient, sustainable lifestyle, following him as he discovers what best to grow and graze in order to live the good life.

“The LifeStyle Channel is home to great Australian lifestyle productions and we’re thrilled to have Matthew Hayden on our team for this series,” said Nicole Sheffield, General Manager, LifeStyle Channels.

“After years of cricket, touring, training and team-work, I’ve decided to focus on some of my other passions and dedicate some time and energy to my little corner of the world,” said Matthew Hayden. “The farmer in me wants to reconnect with the land, the cook wants to grow his own veggies and the dad wants his kids to know where their food comes from. Like a lot of people, I just want to do things a little bit better.”

The series will premiere in mid 2010.
