Survivor: It’s double Samoa
Good news for reality fans from December 15th.

Survivor fans really need to be on alert lately, with extra episodes and amendments proving to be their own Survivor Challenge.
Updated: But it’s good news for them with a double episode slated for 7:30pm Tuesday December 15. Continues in doubles Dec 22.
If Nine keeps up the double eps through summer it might minimise damaging leaks about the winner, given the season is currently airing in the US.
On Tuesday it took 788,000 third in its slot behind The 7:30 Report and Accidentally on Purpose.
Seven was fourth with Gary Unmarried.
Nine moves the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding to 9:30pm, but die-hard reality fans could feasibly watch 2 hrs of Survivor and switch over to The Amazing Race on Seven afterwards.

Each to their own i suppose,
i just have trouble understanding why people would watch such dribble, not my cuppa tea
CBS / Burnett cut down the opening credits to simply the logo for episodes with more content they need to put in. The sad thing is that now they cut out each eliminated contestant from the opening credits as the show goes along, Marisa becomes the first person not to get an opening credit.
Having ‘jetset’ over to america for the first episode, I can confirm E1 actually has no opening credits.
@Lewis, there were no opening credits in the US version for ep 1 either. I’m not sure about final words and vote showing tho…
I will try to drop some reminders to Nine, but don’t promise anything!
Nine really pi**ed me off with this. No opening credits, no final words, no showing the votes. Annoying.
this is great tuesdays are reality nights survivor then the amazing race my two favourit shows in a row oooooooooo yah the hopfully we get season 20 of survivor and season 16 of amazing race on the same day next year.
Love the intro David.
Two eps do get annoying, but I don’t really have a choice in the matter do i?
This is great news. Survivor til 9.30 then The Amazing Race. Woop woop!! And i can just record White Collar.
Cut out the recap episode and we could be done by early January. More than enough time to promote a fastracked All Stars 2!
The US has just had it’s “half time recap & deleted scenes” episode. This season is so good, I’ll happilly watch every episode again.
Also reality fans – Amazing Race repeats (not sure of season yet) on 7TWO from 1pm Thur Dec 10. Daily! (as in weekdays), Hopefully it is S13 or earlier (but not S12) as S14 and S15 (currently airing) have seen them all. S12 on Arena Sat 8.30pm.
Why a double – why not 7.30 two nights a week – it’s not like there is that much on any of the other nights.
jh, Survivor screens 2 seasons per year – pretty much September-December, and then roughly Feb through to May. I’ll be racking up frequent flyer points with Craig and watching the finale in a few weeks. Can’t wait, it’s been a brilliant season. Lots of clapping in this house at the events in many of this season’s tribal councils.
Thanks Jay Jay… you are correct.
David – this is incorrect. Double eps don’t start until 15/12 and Mr & Mrs Smith is still in the schedule on 08/12. Big Fat Greek Wedding was always in for 15/12
How far apart is it in America between the finale of one season and the screening of the next?
Tuesdays will not be the best night of the week for long if they go through episodes like they did with Tocantins. Better to have one episode per week so the pleasure is prolonged.
@Dan As a guess, I don’t want to find out what happens, we are about 7 or 8 weeks but it could be more or less than that. If we have doubles most of summer without interruption from the cricket but thats unlikely as one day games are usually played on Tuesdays. We should close to up to the US by the end of summer.
Dan, today the US will air there 12th episode of Samoa so we are abit behind.
I want to see how long it takes for ch9 to take survivor off our tv’s. Knowing them it wont last long.
@Dan – I think US is up to episode 11.
How many episodes behind the US are we with Samoa?
Good move by Nine. They should be able to fastrack season 20 next Feb, provided ratings hold up. Hopefully there won’t be too much Survivor fatigue with Gabon-Tocantins-Samoa and possibly 20 airing one right after another.
Jas – all of a sudden its become the best night of th week? Hasn’t tuesdays always been the best night of the week?
All of a sudden it has become the best night of the week. Hopefully no more clashes like there was this Tuesday.
will 9 still cut out the end segments out of Survivor when they show who votes out whom and the contestants final speech?
