White Collar lands second season

More good news for TEN acquisitions with confirmation that White Collar has a second season from the USA Network.

White-CollarMore good news for TEN and its US acquisitions with confirmation that White Collar has landed a second season from the USA Network.

The pickup was confirmed by USA though no details on the size of the order is yet clear.

The show, featuring Matt Bomer as a criminal-turned-FBI consultant, is currently airing on TEN as part of its summer line-up.

“Jeff Eastin created a show that was both on-brand and that arguably took USA Network to a new level of sophistication,” USA’s Jeff Wachtel said.

“After breaking out of the gate so strongly, and with finale ratings that actually exceeded the premiere, White Collar was a lock for a second season.”

So far only 7 eps have aired in the US.

  1. I was catching glimpses of this last week and I just could not place the main character. Since then I had been watching some of Chuck and then it finally clicked it was Matthew Bomer, the guy that played Bryce.
And I noticed last week Willie Garson was in it (I know him from Stargate, others might know him from Sex and the City) and so this week I sat down and watched it.

It has the same sort of appeal Chuck has and thus I liked it. Though I still don’t think Tiffani Amber Thiessen can pull off the loving wife role.

  2. It’s a pretty good show, despite the main protag being ridiculously good looking, but its poor Aus ratings aren’t that surprising, as the good concept of going after business and financial related crooks, while quite timely, doesn’t seem to appeal to the large majority of Ten’s bogan viewers. Expect there to be a delay of probably 6 or 7 months till Ten screen more new eps.

  3. I like this show so I’m pleased with the news but once again ‘fast tracking’ has it’s problems as TEN is about to run out of new eps to air.

Lets just hope they don’t put it on hold too long once the new eps start in the new year.
