Airdate: Simpsons Special: Celebrity Friends

In this special Ricky Gervais, Christina Ricci, Simon Cowell, Hugh Hefner, Elliott Gould talk about guest starring in The Simpsons.

On Sunday January 31st, TEN is adding Simpsons Special: Celebrity Friends.

This is a Sky 1 programme which celebrates The Simpsons 20th anniversary. Narrated by Ricky Gervais, the show talks to Christina Ricci, Simon Cowell, Hugh Hefner, Elliott Gould and other celebs who guest starred in the series.

It also reveals the stars who refused invitations to appear on the show.

In January FOX aired The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special – In 3-D! On Ice! but so far no date for Australia.

Celebrity Friends airs on TEN at 6pm Sunday January 31st -which should give The Biggest Loser premiere a better leg up.

  1. I’ve watched all 3 specials last night, and there’s really nothing to see here. There is a really small pool of guest stars (e.g. Joe Mantegna, Tony Hawk, Hugh Hefner, Christina Ricci, Elliot Gould etc.) that talk about the show across all three episodes, and all they pretty much do throughout the specials is tell a few anecdotes. Not much is said by the actual cast, however, there is some insight from current and former producers of the show.

  2. Here are the 3 episodes :

    1 – The Simpsons…Access All Areas
2 – The Simpsons – Mischief and Mayhem
3 – The Simpsons – Celebrity Friends Gone Bad

  3. Wow. Huge night for TEN.

Special Simpsons episode, Biggest Loser and Dance premiere as well as the new movie length opening to House. Wow.

haha, they’ll plug this till hell freezes over.

  4. I thought The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special – In 3-D! On Ice! was pretty disappointing.

I expected Morgan to do something fantastic and it was pretty boring and a bit all over the place.

  5. Would be interested to find out who refused, but as you said they haven’t aired the official anniversary special (maybe Fox kicked them up the @rse about episode catchups before showing it). This won’t tempt me to keep the TV on for fat camp though!

  6. I’ll be watching. The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special – In 3-D! On Ice! was entertaining too, hopefully they air it here soon. Even if they put it on a Friday 7:30 slot.

  7. Ridiculous. This is episode 3 of a 3 part show.

And of course we only get one part of it – TEN are so ridiculous.

Almost as bad as the Seinfeld Reunion fiasco….
