Caroline Craig to narrate ICU

Caroline Craig is about to become TV's busiest Narrator, on both Underbelly and Seven's new factual ICU, based at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital.

Caroline Craig is about to become TV’s busiest Narrator, on both Nine’s Underbelly and Channel Seven’s new factual, ICU: A Matter of Life or Death.

The former Blue Heelers star appeared in the first Underbelly series as fictional young cop, Jacqui James. Her narration linked the second and now the third series.

When ICU launches next week, she will be narrating the medical cases that take place in Melbourne’s Afred Hospital Intensive Care Unit. The hospital is also used for Seven’s other factual, Medical Emergency.

The new Seven series follows patients for days, weeks and months, documenting their stay in the ICU and other parts of the hospital.

Series producer Maxine Gray says, “We soon found that we had two great ‘storytellers’: the families of the patients, who experience an incredibly intense emotional journey while their loved one is in the ICU, and the Intensive Care staff, who are doing everything in their power to make the patient better.

“The ICU is a very inspiring place.

“It’s an intense environment where everything is at stake and yet families frequently discover a level of strength and courage they didn’t know they had. At the same time the doctors and nurses provide a level of care and humanity that’s just incredible.”

The series premieres 8pm next Wednesday, February 3rd.

Not to be confused with Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death.
