Liza Minnelli is reportedly joining the cast of Ugly Betty for a multi-episode arc.
The legendary entertainer will apparently be playing Lena Korvinka, a high school drama teacher at Justin’s (Mark Indelicato) school -totally camp idea!
Liza was going to have knee replacement surgery at the end of January, but her shoot is supposed to begin in Brooklyn this week.
“Ugly Betty‘s producers presented her with a great offer and a hilarious story and they kept coming back to her,” said one source. “She’s going to be playing an outrageous drama teacher and it is going to be fun! Liza is excited to be playing another off-the-wall character like Lucille 2 on Arrested Development.”
Or possibly as the sidekick to Jay Dee Springbett on Australian Idol.
A spokesman for Liza Minnelli said, “Liza is a fan of Ugly Betty but I am not aware of any current plans for her to join the cast.”
Holdin’ out for an offer from Glee eh?

god i do not like her augly betty one of mymost fave shows she better not be on there anylonger than 3 eps and i hope seven is goin to play season 4 after this current season finshes they better
I have so much respect for Liza after seeing her in Arrested Development, poking fun at herself and all… I’m not a Betty fan, but it’s a real coo to have Liza join the show.
