Melrose Place on TEN’s property

Sitting quietly on TEN's official website as one of its acquisition titles is the new season of Melrose Place.

Sitting quietly on TEN’s official website as one of its acquisition titles is the new season of Melrose Place.

The remake for the CW Network has been screening in the US since September. Reviews have been underwhelming, and figures have slipped from 2.27m viewers to 1.26m.

According to TVByTheNumbers, “Melrose Place will certainly be canceled at the end of the season.”

Despite having Heather Locklear guest star on the show, she wasn’t able to plug its sinking down its own pool plughole. How well we all remember the folly that was 90210 (currently hovering around 2.2m viewers and 36 eps in).

So far TEN hasn’t made any noise about the show on its 2010 list, let alone an airdate.

Tuesday night’s a bitch…

  1. I’ve been waiting for a remake of Melrose Place for a year or two and I also been waiting for Heather Locklear’s character, Amanda Woodward are coming to get me! I don’t know when this remake are going to be on Eleven, I want Eleven to screen that remake now!

  2. While Melrose has been lacking in first watch ratings, in America it has increased incredibly in DVR ratings and has become one of the most DVR’d shows this season…shame that people are not watching as it airs.

last few eps before the break were Awesome!

To date, Melrose has 18 eps filmed, 12 aired. I reckon CW will green light a 2nd series ala Melrose 1.0 and shake things up a bit and the ratings will increase.

  3. “According to TVByTheNumbers…”

Sheesh, they didn’t need to be rocket scientists. I wasn’t the only one saying “fail” when the remake was first announced (and it’ll be on the record here somewhere).

  4. yes when is channel 10 going to clean it website up its a mess they need a new one i can see at the top now its all silver and shinniny anyone know wat goin on there i think they could gettin a new look and yes ten hurry up with a new channel all ready

  5. What is ch10 waiting for before they show 90210 & Melrose place. Do they want people to go watch it elsewhere (like youtube) before they show it?

But then they complain when no one watches it once it comes on tv. Go figure !!!!!

  6. Judging by its abysmal US ratings, this and the abymsal 90210 remake series would both be a better fit for Ten’s 3rd channel. On Ten’s main channel, it’ll get taken off after 2 or 3 episodes, if it can’t get at least 1 million viewers regularly.

  7. Ten, wait and air it on your new channel this year with 90210. it will not rate on the main channel, like GO you can have a teen/girls night and tuesday night would be the perfect night. you could also air One Tree Hill with those 2 shows too, although it would probably be put at 10:30 like Gossip Girl.

  8. What are they waiting for ?
Their other programming to fail first ??
I see that they don’t care about the Army Wives timeslot .They could bury this somewhere too instead of nowhere
They could screen both 90210 on MP late on Saturday or 12pm Saturdays wherever they put shows they are trying to just screen the rest of. Surprised neither show was good enough for their summer schedule.
Not even a mention of it being on Ten’s new digital channel.
The dvd will be available before Ten lifts a finger anyway.

  9. I have found the new melrose to be really good. It is way better than the horrible season 2 of 90210. Shame it is getting cancelled. The 3.5 month break in the US wont help things either!!!
